    Co-ed 5v5 Tournament Rules

    Teams:

    1.0 - Teams may only register a maximum of 8 players. Players may not transfer their registration to aanother team during the course of a tournament.

    2.0 - All teams must be at the fields and ready to begin the match at the appointed kick-off time. If ateam is more than 5 minutes late their opponents may claim the fixture with a 1-0 win.

    3.0 - Teams will receive 3 points for a win and 1 for a tie and 0 for a loss. Win by forfeit will result in 3points. Overall standings will be decided by points won followed by number of total goals scored.

    Conduct:

    4.0 - No protests will be allowed. All decisions by referees may not be appealed.5.0 - Conduct and Discipline: The purpose of this tourney is to have fun for all parties. The tournament

    will adhere to the HPU Code of Conduct.

    The Game:

    6.0 - Each team may have 5 players on the field at any time. Teams must have at least 1 female player onthe field at all times. A game will not begin if either team has fewer than 4 players. All teams must

    have an alternate color of uniform, t-shirts, or pennies.

    7.0 - The match will consist of two 10 minute halves.8.0 - The team which kicks off a game will be decided by a coin toss or roshambo from the referee.9.0 - Slide tackling is NOT permitted. The player will be removed from the current game upon offense.

    10.0 - There is no offside rule.11.0 - Substitutions are done on the fly. Players entering/exiting the match must do halfway mark. 12.0 - There is no overtime or sudden death in the case of a tie. Penalty kicks will be used to determine

    the winner in the case of a tie only during playoff rounds only.

    13.0 - Each half will begin with one team kicking off. After a goal has been scored the game will be re-started in a similar manner.

    14.0 - The ball will be considered out of play if it crosses the boundary line marked with cones. Kick-insonly will be permitted to put the ball back in play.

    15.0 - NO metal studded footwear is permitted to be worn by any player in the tournament. Only trainingshoes, cleats (not metal), molded studs and turf shoes may be worn. All players must wear shin

    guards.

    16.0 - Only the goalkeeper may use hands to touch the ball. Goalkeeper are permitted on fields with largegoals only. No goalkeepers are permitted on fields with small goals.

    17.0 - All free kicks for fouls are direct. Opposing players must be at least 10 feet from where any free kickis taken.

    18.0 - Injuries: If a delay of a match in excess of 10 (or so) minutes happens due to injury, AND if itprevents the completion of the match in regulation time, the match will be continued on another

    field designated by the tournament director at the earliest possible time. Not the most convenient

    time but the earliest possible time.
