india’s Major destinationsDelhiThe sprawling capital of Delhi is one

of India’s fastest growing cities. Many

dynasties have ruled out of Delhi and

have left behind a city rich in history and

ancient monuments. Delhi is comprised

of two worlds - New and Old Delhi - with

more sights than any other city in the

country.

AgraThe former Imperial capital, Agra is India’s

most famous destination thanks to its

crown jewel – the iconic Taj Mahal. As

each emperor tried to outdo the last, they

left a remarkable legacy of some of India’s

finest examples of Mughal architecture,

monuments and mausoleums.

MumbaiThe “mother of all cities”, Mumbai is a true

metropolis in every sense of the word.

The city formerly known as Bombay is

considered India’s commercial capital

and the Gateway to India. Filled with

extremes, Mumbai is a place where

skyscrapers and fine restaurants mingle

with tranquil temples and bustling bazaars.

VaranasiSituated on the west bank of the Ganges River,

Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the

world. It is also considered to be one of the

seven sacred cities and an important Hindu

and Jain pilgrimage site, or tirtha – a crossing

place between the physical and spiritual world.

Famous for spiritualism and mysticism this holy

city is a reflection of age-old Indian culture.

JaipurCelebrated as the “Pink City” due to its

distinctly exquisite colourful buildings, Jaipur

was founded in 1727 and became the

capital of the state of Rajasthan. Bustling

bazaars and vibrant turbans in the street

reveal the timeless quality of this fascinating

city. Marvellous palaces and striking hilltop

forts bear witness to Jaipur’s historic past.

KanhaOne of the most scenic wildlife reserves in

Asia, Kanha National Park is renowned for

its diversity of wildlife, including swamp

deer, chital and the famous Bengal tiger.

The lush bamboo forests, grassy plains and

ravines of Kanha inspired the setting for

Richard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book.”

egypt’s Major destinations

uae’s Major destinationDubai A trip to Dubai, the “City of Gold”, is a journey to one of the

world’s fastest growing vacation destinations. This intriguing

land rests on the crossroads of Asia, Europe and Africa, and

combines old world traditions with the unbeatable comforts

of a modern metropolis.

CairoEgypt’s capital is unlike any other city in the

world. This vivacious metropolis stretches

out along both banks of the Nile River and is

regarded as the “Mother of the World”. With

thousands of years of history dating back to

the Pharaohs, Cairo’s treasures include the

impressive Great Pyramids of Giza and the

mighty Sphinx.

LuxorLuxor is often distinguished as the “world’s

greatest open-air museum”. Located on

the site of the ancient city of Thebes, Luxor

is home to an unparalleled array of ancient

monuments including the Luxor Temple, the

magnificent Karnak temple complex and

the Valley of the Kings and Queens.

River NileSynonymous with Egypt as a whole, the

north-flowing Nile River enjoys the distinction

of being one of the world’s longest rivers

and has been revered as the “life giver” of

Egypt. A cruise along the historic Nile is the

perfect way to explore the extraordinary

temples and monuments that line its banks.

AswanAswan is Egypt’s most southernmost city and

is located on one of the loveliest stretches of

the Nile, where white-sailed feluccas glide

past palm-lined islands and amber deserts.

This charming town is known for its laid back

atmosphere, making it one of Egypt’s most

relaxing places to visit.

Abu SimbelAlong with the Great Pyramids of Giza,

the temples of Abu Simbel are among the

most magnificent monuments in the world.

Carved out of a solid cliff in the 13th century,

the extraordinary temples were relocated in

the 1960s by UNESCO to save them from the

rising waters of the Nile.

Alexandria Egypt’s legendary port city shines as the “Pearl

of the Mediterranean,” with an atmosphere

that feels more Mediterranean than Middle

Eastern. Lying at the crossroads of the African,

Arabian and Mediterranean worlds, Alexandria

has a rich cultural heritage and a glorious history

thanks to its library and legendary lighthouse.

Today we explore Bangkok’s rich heritage with a trip to the monumental Grand Palace, the former royal residence and the city’s number-one destination. Walk through the Coronation Hall and reach the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Continue to visit the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, and end our day with a stop at a local Gems Gallery.

4 Bangkok C Ayutthaya E Bangkok (B, L)

Admire the mixture of Thai, Chinese and Gothic architecture styles and then board our coach to continue our tour to the historic city of Ayutthaya. Once known as the “Pearl of the East,” Ayutthaya was the Siamese capital from c. 1350 until its destruction in the 18th century. Wander through the city’s lingering remains and then transfer to the pier where we take a Grand Pearl Cruise along the Chaophaya River.

5 Bangkok C Huahin (B, L, DH)Experience the local culture of this

“City of Angels” with a trip to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Board a long-tail boat and glide through the labyrinth of canals or khlongs, past boats piled high with fresh produce and snacks. After lunch we drive to Huahin and upon arrival we check in to the hotel. The remainder of the day is free at leisure to explore Hua Hin on our own.

6 Huahin (B, L)Today’s tour begins at the Huahin

Railway Station, a former royal pavilion in Sanamchan Palace and Thailand’s most beautiful train station. Our next stop is the Palace of Love & Hope (Marukhathaiyawan Palace), which was built in 1923 with golden teak wood and used as a summer palace for King Rama VI of Thailand. After our tour the rest of the day is free to spend however you wish.

7 Jaipur (B, L)Our sightseeing tour of Jaipur begins

with an elephant (or Jeep) ride to Amber Fort, a fortress atop the rugged hills just outside the city. After touring this magnificent palace – a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu architecture – we venture to the Palace of Winds and Jaipur’s shopping district. In the afternoon, we visit the City Palace, which covers over one-seventh of the area of the walled city, and explore Jantar Mantar, the largest and best preserved of the five observatories built by Maharajah Jai Singh II in the early 1700s. Before returning to the hotel we attend a turban and sari tying demonstration.

8 Jaipur C Agra (B, L, DH)This morning we transit by motor coach

to Agra, visiting Fatehpur Sikri (City of Victory) along the way. Built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century, the Fatehpur Sikri is comprised of ornate pavilions and courtyards that evoke images of opulent imperial times. After our tour we continue driving to Agra, the former Imperial capital of India, where its treasured artefacts bear witness to the legacy of its past emperors. In the evening we take a tonga ride to the gates of the iconic Taj Mahal - one of the world’s most famous monuments that was commissioned by Emperor Shah Janan in memory of his beloved wife. The lyrical beauty of the Taj was once referred to as a “poem in stone”.

9 Agra C Delhi (B, DH)After breakfast we visit Agra Fort (Red

Fort of Agra), a powerful fortress which enclosed the imperial city of the Mughal rulers. Founded in 1565 by Emperor Akbar, the Red Fort houses a large number of beautiful palaces and mosques. After our excursion we drive back to Delhi where we spend our last night in India.

3 Delhi (B, L, D)Delhi is composed of two very different

Continue to the Mausoleum of the Emperor Humayun, a stunning example of early Mughal architecture – a distinctive style that originated in the 16th and 17th century. After visiting the Qutub Minar, a 12th century tower signifying the beginning of Muslim rule in India, we venture into Old Delhi and take an exciting cycle rickshaw ride to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. 4 Delhi C Jaipur (B, L, DH)This morning we drive to Jaipur, fondly

known as the “City of Victory” or the “Pink City”. After checking into the hotel we spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing or shopping.

5 Jaipur (B, L)Our sightseeing tour of Jaipur

begins with an elephant (or jeep) ride up the hillside to Amber Fort, a majestic Rajasthani fort palace constructed using red sandstone and white marble. After admiring the beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu architecture we enjoy a photo opportunity at Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Winds. Located in the heart of Jaipur’s shopping district, the Hawa Mahal is an elaborate palace decorated with intricate latticework. The exterior design was originally intended for the ladies of the court to observe everyday life in the street below. Following lunch we visit the City Palace, a sprawling complex of magnificent buildings, courtyards and gardens. The rugged palace exterior stands in contrast with its delicate interior, lavishly decorated with marble, mirror work, and frescoes. Part of the palace is still a royal residence while another part is comprised of the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, which houses a collection of art and artefacts unparalleled in

This morning we transit by motor coach to Agra, visiting Fatehpur Sikri along the way. A fortified ghost city and a World Heritage site, Fatehpur Sikri is comprised of ornate pavilions and courtyards that evoke images of opulent imperial times. Built during the late 16th century by the Great Emperor Akbar, the palace served as the capital of the Mughal Empire but was soon abandoned when the local wells went dry. To this day most of the monuments and buildings remain in exceptional quality as when it was first constructed over 300 years ago. After touring the palace we continue to Agra, the former Imperial capital and India’s most famous destination thanks to the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival we check into our hotel in Agra and in the afternoon we take a tonga ride to the Taj Mahal, India’s crown jewel and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This architectural wonder was created in the mid 17th century by Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his wife. It took 20,000 people over 20 years to complete. Stunning from every angle, it is the close-up marble inlay work that is truly astounding.

7 Agra C Delhi (B, DH)Situated near the gardens of the Taj

Mahal is the Agra Fort, a 16th century red sandstone fortress commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565. The fort is comprised of a number of exquisite palaces, audience halls and two mosques. Enjoy a tour through this powerful fortress and attend an intricate marble inlay demonstration before continuing our drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival we check into our hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure for last minute shopping or relaxing.

1 UK A Cairo, EgyptOur voyage to Egypt begins as we board

an international flight bound for Cairo.

2 Arrive in Cairo Arrive in Cairo, the starting point of our

journey through the “Land of the Pharaohs.” Situated in Northern Africa, Egypt is one of the world’s oldest civilizations and home to some of the world’s greatest wonders. After landing in Egypt’s capital we meet our representative in the arrivals hall and are transferred to our deluxe hotel. Spend the remainder of the day free at leisure.

3 Cairo (B, L)The energetic metropolis of Cairo

stretches along both banks of the Nile River and is regarded by Egyptians as “Mother of the World”. After breakfast we head to the western edge of Cairo to visit all three Pyramids of Giza. Created over 4000 years ago, the Great Pyramid is the only monument left standing from the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We spend some time walking around the Pyramids and then travel to the nearby Sphinx (“Father of Terror”). Continue to visit the extensive collection of artefacts at the Egyptian Museum and complete the day with a tour to the Citadel of Saladin, the Mosque of Mohammed Ali, and lastly, the Khan El Khalili – a major souk of the Middle East dating back to the 14th century.

4 Cairo (B)Spend the free day exploring Cairo on

our own or take an optional half-day tour to Memphis and Saqqara or a day trip to Alexandria. An excursion to Memphis, the former capital of Ancient Egypt, takes us to the scattered ruins of this mighty city. Visit the striking Alabaster Sphinx and venture to Saqqara, the Necropolis of ancient Memphis. The full-day excursion to Alexandria begins with a visit to the white-marble Roman Amphitheatre and ends with a tour to the triumphal Pompey’s Pillar and the Qaitbey Citadel, a 15th century fort built on the remains of the city’s legendary lighthouse.

5 Cairo A Luxor C Nile River Cruise B (B, L, D)

Take a flight to Luxor where we board our cruise ship – the MS Tulip. The River Nile enjoys the distinction of being one of the world’s longest rivers (4100 miles) and has been revered as the “life giver” of Egypt. Even today the vast majority of the nation’s population lives along its banks. Enjoy lunch aboard the ship and disembark at the East Bank to visit the Luxor Temple and the

Temple Complex of Karnak. The extraordinary complex of kiosks, obelisks, sanctuaries, and pylons were built on a colossal scale and easily surpasses all other monuments, except the Pyramids of Giza.

6 Nile River Cruise B (B, L, D)Today we explore the West Bank, starting

with a tour of the Colossi of Memnon, two 60-foot statues that were each carved out of a single stone. Proceed to visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Valley of the Kings, a barren valley where 62 royal tombs were buried. The tombs and the burial chambers remain stunningly decorated with symbolic descriptions to assist the dead in the dangerous journey through the underworld. After our excursions we board the ship for dinner and sail to Esna.

7 Nile River Cruise B (B, L, D)Sail to Edfu this morning and disembark

for a shore excursion to the Temple of Horus. Buried under sand and silt for nearly two thousand years, it is the largest and best-preserved Ptolemaic temple in Egypt. The temple’s unique structure is the result of its double dedication to two gods – the falcon god Horus and the local crocodile god Sobek. Return to the ship for lunch and sail south to Kom-Ombo.

8 Nile River Cruise B (B, L, D)Cruise to Aswan, Egypt’s southernmost city

and the former gate to inner Africa. Aswan is located on one of the loveliest stretches of the Nile, where white-sailed feluccas (wooden sailboat) glide past palm-lined islands and amber deserts. After lunch we enjoy a relaxing felucca ride around Elephantine Island, the Botanical Garden and the Mausoleum of Agha Khan. We return to the ship for dinner and dock overnight in Aswan.

9 Nile River Cruise B Aswan A Cairo (B, L)

Spend the morning exploring Aswan or take an optional air-excursion to Abu Simbel to visit the Great Temple of Ramses II. The magnificent temple is one of Egypt’s most spectacular monuments and features four colossal statues of Ramses II. In Aswan, we disembark to visit the famed High Dam. Along with the Aswan Dam, the High Dam currently provides irrigation and electricity for all of Egypt. After exploring the dam we continue to the largest known ancient obelisk and discover why the 1168-ton Unfinished Obelisk was abandoned by its creators. Explore the beautiful Temple of Philae on Agilika Island, which was dedicated to the goddess Isis and reconstructed after the original temple was permanently submerged by the High Dam. We end our day with a flight back to Cairo.*Fromhere,ifyoudesire,youmaychooseanoptionalextensiontoAlexandriafromCairobycar,orcatchaflightfortheSharmElSheikhExtension.

If your confirmed arrangements include a flight, we (or if you booked via an authorised agent of ours, that agent) will issue you with an ATOL Certificate and a confirmation invoice. Upon receipt, if you believe that any details on the ATOL Certificate or confirmation invoice or any other document are wrong you must advise us immediately s changes can not be made later or may result in additional costs.

3. BOOKING YOUR HOLIDAYa. Many airlines require the full name of all passengers travelling. We will therefore ask you at the time of booking to provide us with the full name of each passenger as it appears in the passport. b. Special Requests, such as meal, room type, or flight seat requests should be indicated over the phone or in writing. 4. FINANCIAL PROTECTION RT Holidays is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA no. 91-2-84362), ABTA (ABTA no. Y1472) and we hold an ATOL Licence (ATOL no. 9513) granted by the Civil Aviation Authority. We provide financial security for flight inclusive Packages and ATOL protected flights. We do this by way of a bond held in favour of the Civil Aviation Authority under ATOL number 9513. When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists the flight, accommodation, car hire and/or other services that are financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. For further information, visit the ATOL website at www.atol.org.uk. The price of our flight inclusive arrangements includes the amount of £2.50 per person as part of the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) we pay to the CAA. This charge is included in our advertised prices. Not all holiday or travel services offered and sold by us will be protected by the ATOL Scheme. ATOL protection extends primarily to Customers who book and pay in the United Kingdom.

We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable).

We provide financial security for holidays not including flights by way of a bond held with ABTA.

Note: Certainarrangementsmaynotbeamendedaftertheyhavebeenconfirmedandany alterationcouldincuracancellationchargeofupto100%ofthatpartofthearrangements.

7. IF WE CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAYIt is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements, but we do plan the arrangements many months in advance. Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. Most of these changes will be minor and we will advise you or your travel agent of them at the earliest possible date. We also reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements. For example, if the minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached, we may have to cancel it. However, we will not cancel your travel arrangements less than 60 days before your departure date, except for reasons of force majeure or failure by you to pay the final balance.

Most alterations will be minor and while we will do our best to notify you or your travel agent of any changes as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure, we will have no other liability to you. Examples of “minor changes” include the following when made before departure: • Any change in the advertised identity of the carrier(s), flight timings, and/or aircraft type. • A change of outward departure time or overall length of your holiday of twelve hours or less.• A change of accommodation to another of the same standard or classification.

Occasionally we may have to make a major change to your confirmed arrangements. ”Examples of “major changes” include the following, when made before departure:• A change of accommodation area for the whole or a significant part of your time away.• A change of accommodation to that of a lower standard or classification for the whole or a significant part of your time away. • A change of outward departure time or overall length of your arrangements of twelve or more hours. • A change of UK departure airport, as long as that change is not from one London airport to another London airport. London airports are Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City.• A significant change to your itinerary, missing out one or more destination entirely.

If we have to make a major change or cancel, we will tell you as soon as possible and if there is time to do so before departure, we will offer you the choice of:i. (for major changes) accepting the changed arrangements, ii. having a refund of all monies paid; or iii. accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value).

You must notify us of your choice within 7 days of our offer. If you fail to do so we will assume that you have chosen to accept the change or alternative booking arrangements.

If we make a major change or cancel, less than 60 days before departure, we will also pay compensation as detailed below:

XXXXXXXXXXXX

The compensation that we offer does not exclude you from claiming more if you are entitled to do so. We will not pay you compensation where we make a major change or cancel more than 60 days before departure or in the event that we are forced to make a change or cancel as a result of unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which we could not have avoided even with all due care or if we cancel your arrangements because the minimum number of participants to run the arrangements has not been reached. (We will tell you if we have to cancel for this reason not less than 45 days before departure).

The above sets out the maximum extent of our liability for changes and cancellations and we regret we cannot meet any expenses or losses you may incur as a result of change or cancellation. Please note: where accommodation with a higher price than the original accommodation is offered by us and accepted by you, the difference in price will be deducted from any compensation payable. In no case will we pay compensation if accommodation is offered by us and accepted by you with a higher price than that originally booked in the same location where no additional payment is made by you.

We will not pay you compensation and the above options will not be available if we make a minor change or cancel as a result of your failure to make full payment on time or where the change(s) or cancellation by us arises out of alterations to the confirmed booking requested by you.

Very rarely, we may be forced by "force majeure" (see clause 34) to change or terminate your arrangements after departure. If this situation does occur, we regret we will be unable to make any refunds (unless we obtain any from our suppliers), pay you compensation or meet any costs or expenses you incur as a result.

If we become unable to provide a significant proportion of the services that you have booked with us after you have departed, we will make alternative arrangements for you at no extra charge and, if appropriate in all the circumstances, will pay you reasonable compensation.

8. PRICE POLICYAll prices quoted in this brochure are in UK Pounds Sterling and are based on tariffs and rates of currency exchange in effect on 1 November 2011. These prices are subject to change as deemed necessary and fair by RT Holidays before you book.

The price of your confirmed holiday is subject at all times to changes in transport costs such as fuel, and any other airline cost changes which are part of our contracts with airlines (and their agents), cruise ship operators and any other transport provider; and to changes in the currency exchange used to calculate your arrangements and to rates, dues, taxes or fees chargeable for services such as landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports any or all of which may result in a variation of your holiday price. We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges and/or additional services or travel arrangements. You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of £1.00 per person together with an amount to cover agents’ commission. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your confirmed travel arrangements (excluding any insurance premiums, amendment charges and/or additional services or travel arrangements), you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price), or cancelling

and receiving a full refund of all monies paid to us, except for any insurance premiums and any amendment charges and/or additional services or travel arrangements. Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on your final invoice. There will be no change made to the price of your confirmed holiday within 30 days of your departure nor will refunds be paid during this period. Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your confirmed holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes have no impact on the price of your travel due to contractual and other protection in place.

9. Where you experience a delay which is not owing to any failure by us, our employees or sub-contractors, this prompt assistance is likely to extend to providing help in locating refreshments, accommodation and communications but not paying for them. Any airline or other transport supplier may however pay for or provide refreshments and/or appropriate accommodation and you should make a claim directly to them. If flight times change after tickets have been dispatched we will contact you as soon as we can to let you know.

Under EU Law, you have rights in some circumstances to refunds and/or compensation from the airline in cases of denied boarding, cancellation or delay to flights. Full details of these rights will be publicised at EU airports and will also be available from airlines. If the airline does not comply with these rules you should complain to the Civil Aviation Authority at www.caa.co.uk/passengers. Reimbursement in such cases is the responsibility of the airline and will not automatically entitle you to a refund of your holiday price from us. If, for any reason, you do not claim against the airline and make a claim for compensation from us, you must, at the time of payment of any compensation to you, make a complete assignment to us of the rights you have against the airline in relation to the claim that gives rise to that compensation payment. A delay or cancellation to your flight does not automatically entitle you to cancel any other arrangements even where those arrangements have been made in conjunction with your flight.

This brochure is our responsibility, as your tour operator. It is not issued on behalf of, and does not commit the airlines mentioned herein or any airline whose services are used in the course of your travel arrangements.
