    Project Details:

Project Name EDOS (Enablement data orchestration system)Client CISCO

    Project Description

The project mainly involved generation of enablement files, which is a file of information and when loaded into

customer's video transmission system allows the customer to operate on service provider's network.

The project mainly involved orchestration or integration of both EMM and NON EMM enablement files inside

a single system called as EDOS.

Main challenge in the project was to generate different files with different types of formatting as per customers

requirement and the files generally had multiple attributes corresponding to shipment, delivery, order info etc.,

    coming from multiple sources.

Main aim was to enable generation of both specific (fixed) files as well as generic (dynamic) files as required

by customers and perform required validations based on the type of file requested.

    Duration 5 months (till date)

    Role / Responsibility

Worked in the data model team and involved in creation of specific files from with data coming from various

sources like shipment, customer, order, SAP etc..

During the project phase got extensive knowledge in various database

    Features like:

Creation of database tables, views, indexes, sequences

Creation of complex packages procedures, triggers

Use of cursors, refcursors, collections likevarray, neloymentsted tables etc.

Main challenge was to use various methos and formatting functions to format the attributes in file as per

    customer requirement.

Data integration using PVCS, unit testing, supported during production deployments.

Apart from handling the datamodel team's requirements had to synchronize with other teams like UI team

(front end), TIBCO team (middleware) to analyze the existing procedures used by them, debug issues faced

by them and make required modifications.

    Project Name Engage-Coherence SERV

    Client Apple Inc.

    Project Description

The project Used Coherence 3.5.0 version to create a cache based platform for faster access of any data

from database (3 sec upper limit) for multiple sales Applications (Mysales, Engage, SFA) of Apple. The

project involved creation of flat tables (Un-normalized data) taking all the necessary columns from the existing

database. The flat table was in un-normalized form with minimal constraints for faster transactions on it.

Whenever a user performed a search or a save operation through the applications, instead of hitting the

database directly the data is fetched from the cache through the rest services (client services) . At the same

time the data was also updated in flat table data structure after some minimal delay. The flat table was a

permanent repository and the cache was continuously refreshed with latest data, but the data for application

was always fetched from the cache (RAM) and flat tables but not from the actual source database hence the

    response was very fast.

The main challenge in the project was to keep the main source database, Flat table structure and cache in sync.

    Duration 1.1 years

    Role / Responsibility

My role was mainly the creation of flat table structure of the main database.

During the project phase got extensive knowledge in various database

    Features like:

Creation of database tables, synonyms, indexes, record types.

    Handling triggers, queue structures.

Creation of complex packages and procedures. Analysis of various queries used in the packages, analyzing their cost, efficiency, speed and optimizing them.

Basic UNIX commands, generation of SAR reports, use of various tools like jconsole to check the performance

    of servers.

Unit testing, manual testing, stress testing of the code and code debugging.

Project Name GBI Classroom Induction project

    Client Apple Inc.

    Project Description

It was a data warehousing project and involved ETL (Extract, transform, load) technology for database

migration from Oracle database to teradata database for the classroom database of Apple.

It involved Use of Informatica tool for the large scale database migration.

    Duration 5 monthsRole / Responsibility

Understanding the table, attributes, associations of the source database to be migrated.

Understanding the features of Informatica tool and applying it to the project.

Understanding ETL (Extract, transform, load) technology.

Performing, mapping, transformations, creation of metadata etc required for the migration.

Used designer features like source analyzer, target analyzer, data cleansing, mapping, creating workflows

    and sessions.
