If all goes as planned, the project will be completed by January 22. The roof has been completely installed and work continues on the interior lighting and replacement of the ceilings on the second floor. The exterior panels on the upper part of the building will be replaced in the next few weeks. The heat pump units should be fully operational by Wednesday, January 4. Our Wednesday night suppers will resume with all other activities to follow on January 11. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office. One financial aspect of the construction project I want to remind you of is the loan to close the gap between the money raised and the total cost of the project. The private loan from a private individual at 2% interest will be in the amount of $100,000.00 with a payment amortization of ten years. This will mean a monthly payment in the amount of between $900.00 and $1,000.00. More information will be provided concerning this loan in the next few weeks. The Stewardship Team submitted a plan to the church in the last business meeting for how to pay this debt back. May I suggest that you continue giving to the construction project so that this loan can be paid off quickly. Thank you for your continued patience as this project nears completion. This has been a big financial undertaking for our church, but with the Lords blessing, the work is being completed. This building serves not only us, but also our community and is a beacon of ministry to the community. Pastor Tim

From the Pastor… On Sunday we said goodbye to John Hare. John has filled the gap well between our last youth minister and Dwight Hedges who began his ministry with us this week. I owe a debt of gratitude to John for his ministry among us and to his personal ministry to me. John has a bright future in ministry and I am glad we have been a part of it. We will continue to pray for John as he leaves and continues his educational pursuits. At the same time we say goodbye to John, we welcome Dwight Hedges and his family to our church family. Let us commit to praying for him as he makes this transition and that he would be an effective minister in our midst as he leads the youth and ministers to us in other ways. We welcome Dwight and are glad he is here. On Sunday, January 8 we will begin our Janu-ary Bible Study. This year’s theme is found in the book of Malachi. The Old Testament lists Malachi as the last of the Minor Prophets. This minor prophet had a major message—turn back to God. He still loved His people. He remained faithful. They were to lay aside complacency and follow Him with a whole heart. Like James in the New Testament, Malachi showed the value of inward religion, not just outward ritual. Walking with God positively affects how a husband treats his wife and how an employer treats his employees. Following God means being faithful to the marriage cov-enant. Again, these are words needed today. God’s Word through Malachi speaks to people today. Many have become complacent in their walk with God. Malachi calls believers to whole-hearted faithfulness in response to who God is and what He has done. I hope you will come and be a part of this time together over the next several weeks as we explore the book of Malachi.
