Social workers adopt many roles to achieve their goals of social justice, the enhancement of the quality of life of people, and the development of the full potential of each individual, family and group in society. Some soci al wor ker s act as pla nners and developer s of services. Ot her s manage ser vices and try to ensure tha t systems work smoothly. Some ac t as advoca tes and negotiators for those disc rimi nate d aga inst or unable to act for themselve s. Other social workers work as therapists with individuals, couples , families and groups as they deal with issues that arise throughout their lives. Some social workers act as information givers, providing enquirers with information about a large range of resources and services.
