to see why motorcycles continue to be so popular and important

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

MANUFACTURING AND TESTING

Taking an idea rom an image in your head to a nished product is a long journey, usually starting with a bike build. Two parts o the bike may need to be connected, a section might need to becleaned up or an area lightened. Sometimes a part just doesn’ t work as well as it could. We put our collective heads together to come up with ideas to solve the problem . We sketch on napkins,sheet metal or any material within reach. We cut, weld, bend, machine and hammer ideas out o steel, billet aluminum, stainless, rubber and plastic. Once we have a solid representation o an ideawe reverse engineer and 3D model the parts on the computer, print nal rapid prototypes, test t and send our designs o to Perormance Machine or urther analysis, engineering, testing andeventually manu acturing. On bike testing tak es place through the entire development proces s and up until the very end. Every bike we build is ridden hard, like we expect our customer s would do.

Black Ops™ has taken black nishing to a new level o quality and detail. Black Ops has both textured black and agloss black nish on one part. It’s aggressive, yet subtle.

RSD Contrast Cut™ product starts with a nely machined, polished and black anodized part which is re-machined tobring out the design highlights. Close attention is paid to machine pattern and quality to ensure the best and cleanestmachine work.

RSD oers the best chrome in the business by starting o with a hand polished surace preparation ollowed by layerso high quality, durable chrome. You will not see a shinier chrome.

Our brass parts are simple, raw and golden giving your bike just the right amount o soul. Finely machined brass is letin it’s natural state and overtime will take on a eel unique to your environment.

Our Aluminum products are rst hand polished and then anodized with a UV resistant black anodize that will hold it’scolor and increase durability and prevent oxidation. Our steel parts all receive a high quality surace prep ollowed byindustry leading powder coat nish in either Gloss or Satin Black powder or a smooth fawless nish that protects itrom the elements.

Perormance Machine produces the highest quality products on the market today rom their state-o-the -art manuacturing acility in La Palma, CA. RSD motorcycle accessories are licensed toPerormance Machine and they handle the engineering, testing, manuacturing, sales, and warranty (excluding Mustang Seats and Vance and Hines Exhausts). Each RSD product is made romthe best certied and documented materials and are meticulously engineered to meet international standards such as JASO and TUV. All products undergo rigorous and intensive testing orstrength and longevity at Perormance Machine’s in-house testing acility, never compromising our vision or both unction and aesthetics.

The RSD Clarity Derby Cover is the next best thing to an open primary. Articulately machined billet aluminum rames transparentpolycarbonate, giving you the same eel o a spinning clutch pack, yet is ully enclosed. Now you can show o that trick clutch.

Ever wanted to know what your air intake is doing? Now you can check it out while it’s sealed tightly behind transparentpolycarbonate and machined billet aluminum. The RSD Clarity Air Cleaner exposes your uel delivery system as no otherintake system can.

We’ve set out to expose the heart o the twin cam engine with the RSD Clarity Timing Cover. It’s nely machined billet housingand transparent polycarbonate lenses show you a view o the cam gears, chain and support plate, exposing the inner workings.

When RSD set out to create an air cleaner, we wanted tomake something that improved perormance as well asthe look o a bike. We ended up revolutionizing what an aircleaner can be in both unction and aesthetics.

The new RSD Turbine Air cleaner took some major design cues rom jet engines. This is the next step inintake systems or your bike. We ocused our eorts on building something that would fow well while alsogiving a unique and timeless style that looks good on any bike.

I you have purchased a RSD Air Cleaner in the past, but have allen or one o our new styles, you can now update

your air cleaner to compliment your RSD wheels, by just replacing the aceplate.

I you purchased your RSD air cleaner prior to 2010 and notice any

oil dripping rom the bottom lter element, this FREE ki t cleans up

the pesky problem. We have ound that some engines make excessive

crankcase pressure causing them to spew a bit more oil than others up

through the breathers. This retrot consists o slotted-head breather

bolts and injection molded rubber tubes that t securely into the

backing plate o your existing air cleaner. These parts help route any

oil coming out o your breathers right back into your engine without

In the early days HD was making a name or itsel on dirtracks worldwide against Triumph, BSA,

Indian and countless other brands. When it comes to big twins HD seems to o orgotten how much

un a massive V-twin can be in the dirt. That takes us to our Blackline. First we ully stripped her

down and chopped o everything extra. Next was to add back to get her dirtrack ready. 19” RSD

Judge wheels are the biggest attitude change along with Goodyears, a new ender and mount, RSD

spring seat kit, prototype bars and gauge re-locator, among a host o other little changes and RSD

parts. Dirty and narrow minded, just the way we like it.

Our two-piece design allows the rotor to expand and contract when heated rom the

riction caused by the brake pad. The aerated portholes on the stainless steel outer band

Our wheels begin with an aerospace quality, aluminum orgings that place the highest

material strength in the same direction as the operating load, creating a light and strong

wheel. From there we create the array o styles you see on our bikes throughout this

catalog using CAD design sotware. Each wheel design must pass rigorous and intensive

testing.

We introduced the drilled rim lip speed dots on this wheel to
