The result was an ABC book that used cats as the means for readers to learn each letter. The biggest challenges occurred with the letters x, y, and z; as no cat species possessed names beginning with these letters. The problem was solved by incorporating letter related actions into the story. For example, for “y,” all 23 cats were depicted as yawning simultaneously. The easiest cat name seemed to be LaPerm and it was the first illustration I did for this assignment. It peeks out from underneath a hair perm machine.
