Dec 2012 – Dec 2015 NATIONAL CHEMICAL LABORATORY, COUNCIL OF SCIENTIFIC AND
INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH Pune, Maharashtra, India
Chemical Engineering and Process Development Division
Project Fellow 1. Worked on CSIR – NCL sponsored project entitled “Development of Sustainable
Waste Management Technologies for Chemical and Allied industries” under the
guidance of Dr. S. P. Kamble. Responsible for developing effluent treatment methodology for pharmaceutical
wastewater.
Performed Photo-catalytic degradation of pharmaceuticals wastewater in
simulated and actual wastewater using modified Photo-catalyst with solar
radiation or/and artificial radiation.
Developed N doped TiO2 modified Photo-catalyst for Photo-catalytic degradation
of ciprofloxacin containing wastewater.
Developed BiSO2 , ZnO2 , Fe doped TiO2, Bi- metal oxide, non-metal/ metal
doped visible catalyst and Titanium hydroxide gel visible photo catalyst for
waste water treatment purpose.
Developed a plug flow reactor with capacity of 100 lit for pilot scale working on
natural radiation with the help of parabolic reflectors.
Calculation regarding design of plug flow reactor was done, like size and length
of reactor.
Worked on waste water treatment of Sangvi, Pune ETP.
2. Worked on project entitled “Synthesis of 4’-Hydroxyacetophenone (PHAP)”
(important pharmaceutical intermediate) under the guidance of Dr. P. P. Barve.
Responsible for optimizing the process at pilot scale. Also responsible for plant
troubleshooting especially while handling Hydrogen Fluoride (reactant).
Working hand with CSTR (25 lit capacity), Pumps like positive displacement
pump which we have used for raw material feeding, centrifugal pumps for
discharge line.
In downstream process worked on Reactive packed bed distillation column unit,
Fixing of reflux ratio to improve the purity of product.
Studied operating factors affecting purity of product while reaction such as
heating, cooling, pressure effect.
Studied selection of Material for construction of equipment required for process
based on fluid characteristics.
Responsible for material balance of the process.
3. Worked on project entitled “Synthesis of Tri-butyl Citrate” under the guidance of Dr.
S. P.Kamble.
Developed an eco-friendly and autocatalytic process for synthesizing Tri-butyl
citrate from lab scale to pilot scale.
Responsible for studying the kinetics of the reaction to improve the purity of Tri-
butyl Citrate and material balance of the process.
In this process we have used Packed Bed Distillation column for making it
continuous.
4. Working on Textile waste water treatment.
Development of method for waste water from textile process industries which
contain high COD and TDS.
Effect of different operating parameters on kinetics and conducting pilot
experiment on industrial site.
Use of Advance Oxidation process for Textile waste water treatment.
5. Worked on project entitled “Synthesis of Propionic acid” under the guidance of Dr.
S. P.Kamble.
This project consists of development of process for synthesis of Propionic acid
from waste generated by industry which contents some amount of propionic acid
and other compound.
I have developed process for synthesis propionic acid as well isolate product with
99.5% purity.
6. Worked on project entitled “Synthesis of Methyl acetate with < 1% moistureˮunder
the guidance of Dr. S. P. Kamble.
7. Worked on project entitled “Synthesis of 4′-Methoxyacetophenoneˮ under the
guidance of Dr. S.P. Kamble.
Sep 2012 – Nov 2012 US VITAMINS LTD. Chiplun, Maharashtra, India
Production Engineer.
Responsible for the smooth functioning of the process producing Metformin-
HCl. quality control.
Manpower handling, 18 members were there in team.
