On-Call Daytime Volunteers for Pre-taped Pledge Breaks (You don’t even need to answer the phones!) You don’t even need to answer the phones. You just need to look like you are answering the phones! Because we are producing more pre-taped pledge breaks, we often need volunteers to come in during the day for the taping sessions. Generally, we may need your help prior to the pledge periods (August, December, March, June) and you would come in on a designated day for half of the day. It’s fun to do! If you would like to be on our on-call list, please contact Susan Barber [email protected]. Thanks for your support! Tour Guides Have the Most Fun! Do you have a few hours a month? (Most tours are scheduled during the day but there are some occasional evenings too!) Join the fun of taking small groups around the Denver station and informing folks of all ages about the wonders of Rocky Mountain PBS. It’s easy – we have tour scripts and we train you. Generally, our tours last approximately an hour. You don’t have to be an expert. Just bring your smile and laughter with you. Tour guides are some of the best goodwill ambassadors that we have. Rocky Mountain PBS is committed to our public and that means that we welcome the public into our station more than any other TV station in town. We need your help. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, please contact Susan Barber [email protected] and we will have some fun! Super School Volunteer Janell Hetrick gives fifth graders Leevi McFarland and Riley Shaver some pointers on how to report the news after a first take Wednesday at the Baker Central School Library. (Zachary Laux / Fort Morgan Times) Ten fifth graders entered the library at Baker Central School Wednesday afternoon, all a little nervous. Sure, they had some time to plan, write scripts and rehearse, but not a lot, said Gifted and Talented Coordinator for the Fort Morgan School District Miranda Harper. "We had a limited amount of time to figure out how things are going to work," she said. "For one hour twice a week since Sept. 10, we planned, formed scripts, rehearsed. Figured out props, etc." The fifth graders filtered into the library Monday for another rehearsal, but not just any rehearsal. This was the moment the children spent their time to perfect. It was do or die. "Miss Harper, can you count down for us," a nervous student asked before continuing. "Sure," Harper said with a smile. "Three-two-one". "Good morning, and welcome to Super School News," fifth graders Olivia Clise and Kristen Frasco said in unison. Clise and Frasco, along with eight other fifth graders, have been practicing to be featured in a two-minute spot on "Super School News".
