Project Background
The Bike Master Plan is being developed by the consultant team that developed the City’s Strategic Multimodal Transportation Plan “Richmond Connects” (Michael Baker & Alta)
We needed more specific recommendations for dedicated bike infrastructure
Needed to hear from the community This will serve as the framework for future projects
as we build out a network of bikeways
Scope of the Bike Master Plan
Emphasis on infrastructure– Where (street or corridor)– What (type of infrastructure)– When (near, mid or long-term)
Document best practices and typical design treatments for different types of infrastructure
Prioritization of top projects based upon a variety of metrics (density, connections)
