The Liquid Ice back-up padhas a special centering deviceto ensure perfect balance.

Tech Tip: Fold the pad in halfto easily align the button withthe hole then pat the padsecurely into place.

Apply the thin interface pad tothe back-up pad.

Apply a P1500 grit disc to the thininterface pad.(For larger dirt nibs or heavy orangepeel, it might be necessary to startwith P1000 or P1200 followed byP1500).

Reduce the machine speedby 25% or more to achievethe best finish.Thoroughly clean the vehiclebefore sanding to eliminatepossible contaminants.

Start the D/A after it is in contactwith the surface. Use light pressure.Work in small sections with a slow,steady movement. Sand in an upand down motion then traverseusing a side to side motion.

Use the Blue Cutting Foam Pad andfollow the same procedure, exceptturn the buffer rpm up to 1500.Remove all polish swirl marks beforemoving to pad #3.

Start with the Super Cut WoolPad. (Spur wool pad beforestarting to condition and removeloose yarns or dry polish). ApplyLiquid Ice Extra-Cut to the workarea and spread with the padbefore starting the machine. Buffusing medium pressure at 1000–1200 rpm. Remove all sandscratches before moving to pad #2.

Use only a 3/32 random orbital D/A sander.

Many brands are color-coded:

• Hutchins blue body trim• National Detroit black shroud • Dynabrade black trigger

Remove all buffing residue and addpaint protection with Liquid IceClean-Up/Detailer Spray #42082.Wipe clean with a Blue Magnetmicrofiber cloth #04402. Be sure toremove the tag from the clothbefore use.

On dark finishes the WhiteFinishing Foam Pad isrecommended to remove thefinest polish swirl marks andproduce a high gloss finish.Buff at 1500 rpm.

consistent spray pattern, convenient storage of paint as well as

easy and clean disposal of the entire unit. When it comes to

inventing a better system, you have to think outside the cup.

HOW TO DO IT

Thread the Norton adapter to thespray gun.

Seat the ring into the cup. Insert liner into ring. Load paintby weight or use pre-printedmixing ratio scales on the cup.

Mix paint by stirring (if not usinga shaker) and clean linerflange/ring area of any paintbefore attaching to lid.

Seat lid onto ring:

A) Turn counter-clockwise until two“clicks” are heard.

B) Rotate lid clockwise until tight.

“Snap” wings to cup. Insert the plug firmly into thelid tower if using a mechanicalshaker or for storage untilready to use.

Add the shaker cap to shake the paint.

After shaking, check lid andtighten if needed. Allow paint tosettle and slowly remove plug torelease any air.

Mount the adapter flush to the lidtower base by pressing downfirmly on the spray gun.

“Snap” the adapter locks overthe adapter base to secure the lidto the gun adapter.

Connect air line to gun and purgeair from the liner, adjust spraypattern and you’re ready to spray.

The Norton disposal paint cup eliminates the problem of gunked up threads because each unitcomes with a fresh set of threads. The only reusuable component to keep track of is the hardmixing cup with pre-printed measurements, so there are no inserts to keep track of either.

The unitized Lid/Liner assembly is guaranteed never to come apart during disposal whicheliminates the hazard and mess of spilled paint. Or, it can be securely sealed with the plug for usein future spraying of the remaining paint. No matter how you handle it, the unitized leak-proofLid/Liner assembly is guaranteed to remain securely sealed during disposal or storage. It’s assimple and as ingenious as that.
