What is shore net

• Shore net is a traditional fishing practice where

an entire village comes together to catch fish.

• A long net is spread into water in the shape of a

U, such that the tips of the U are on the shore

• Villages pull the net from both the end

• The catch is auctioned and remaining shared

among the villagers.
