Friends,
Last weekend was so special for our parish family. We
welcomed our new Deacon - John Knesis. John’s ordination
was beautiful and he gave an inspiring first homily here at
Resurrection on Sunday. May God continue to bless him, his
wife, Janet, and his son, Anthony! Get ready because he is
bringing with him - great ideas, passion and zeal to our
parish.
I have a big smile on my face thinking about this upcoming
week as well. This Tuesday, June 19th, makes one year
since I pulled up to Resurrection with all my moving boxes.
One year down… many more to go! I have learned that
every parish has its own “flavor”. I had no idea what I was
walking into when I received the letter sending me to
Resurrection. As I say, almost on a daily basis, “I have no
idea what I am doing”. Thank God I am surrounded and
supported by a great staff and all of you - very kind and
patient parishioners.
Like all of you, I have quickly fallen in love with our
Resurrection Family. Thank you for letting me be myself.
As I said above, every parish is different, and some do not
let their priests be themselves. Some places require that their
priests be almost perfect, completely put together and ten
steps ahead. I am blessed that you let me be me - making a
ton of mistakes daily, flying by the seat of my pants, being
highly disorganized and learning as I go. What can I say, I
am a work in progress. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for
us in this next year. It’s exciting to know that God is letting
our wonderful adventure together continue!
+ Fr. Jim

Dear Resurrection of Our Lord Parish,
I was overwhelmed by the love & well wishes that I received at my Mass of Thanksgiving and the reception that followed and want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
A special “THANK YOU” to Father DeGrassa, Father Rauch, Father Gallagher, Deacon Dennis Friel, Ms. Tina Nase & her music ministry, the altar servers, ushers, and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes at the school hall to make this day one that I will truly never forget. It is generosity like this that reveals the heart of Resurrection of Our Lord Church and makes us true brothers & sisters in Christ!
With filial affection,
Deacon John Knesis
Next week, we will take the Peter's
Pence Collection, which provides Pope
Francis with the funds he needs to
carry out his charitable works around
the world. The proceeds benefit our brothers and
sisters on the margins of society, including victims
of war, oppression, and disasters. Please be
generous. For more information, visit

Trip To Italy with Father Jim - November 4th - 14th 2018
Group trips usually have you running and rushing through a whirlwind of sites at such a fast pace that it leaves you forgetting almost everything. Our Trip is uniquely different! We have a trip designed to truly take-in and experience Italy. We stay only in 3 luxury hotels the entire time. We get to know the local flavors by taking our
time. We have daily mass, meals and personal guides throughout. We will see so much but at a leisurely pace instead of rushing. Travel with me and another fun priest, Father Matt Tralies, for the trip of a lifetime. For information about our itinerary, pricing, and registration, contact Susan from Select Tours at 800-842-4842 or [email protected], or visit www.selectinternationaltours.com. Or simply call me or stop by the rectory for a brochure.
