Introduction
Organization KPIs are always measurable and result oriented.
When it comes to employees' KPIs, except for sales and
operations, usually all other employees KPIs have following
issues:
Ÿ Excessive focus on measuring the job “activities and attributes” rather than “results”.
Ÿ Line of sight between business KPIs and employees KPIs is blurred.
Ÿ Performance appraisal is based on subjective phrases and whimsical likes/dislikes rather evidence-based outcomes.
Ÿ There is no objective criterion to validate individual performance with business performance.
Consequences for the OrganizationŸ
Ÿ Overly inflated performance rating bell curve at employees' level, not corresponding with business performance bell curve.
Ÿ Line managers not having faith in objectivity of HR performance management system.
