Software performance testing - Server response time

1 This refers to the time taken for one system node to respond to the

request of another. A simple example would be a HTTP 'GET' request from

browser client to web server. In terms of response time this is what

all load testing tools actually measure. It may be relevant to set

server response time goals between all nodes of the system.

Software performance testing - Render response time

1 A difficult thing for load testing tools to deal with as they generally have no

concept of what happens within a node apart from recognizing a period of time where there is no activity 'on the wire'. To measure render response time it is

generally necessary to include functional test scripts as part of the performance

test scenario which is a feature not offered by many load testing tools.

Atomic line filter - Response time and transmission rate

1 The response time of such an ALF, is largely dependent on the

spontaneous decay of the excited atoms in the vapor cell

Atomic line filter - Response time and transmission rate

1 Many methods of decreasing the response time of ALFs have been developed. Even

in the late 1980s, certain gases were used to catalyze the decay of the electrons of the vapor cell. In 1989, Eric Korevaar had

developed his 'Fast ALF' design which detected emitted fluorescence without

photosensitive plates. With such methods employed, gigahertz frequencies are

easily attainable.

Response time (technology) - Data processing

1 In a data system, the system response time is the interval between the receipt of the end

of transmission (telecommunications)|transmission of an inquiry message and the beginning of the transmission of a response

message to the station originating the inquiry. People usually doubt this though because of the response time of a users

computer station. If in any order you choice to pick a higher refresh rate your response

time will increase in an incremented manner.

Response time (technology) - Real-time Systems

1 Response time is different from Worst-case execution time|WCET

which is the maximum time the task would take if it were to execute

without interference

Response time (technology) - Display technologies

1 Response time is the amount of time a pixel in an Liquid crystal display|LCD monitor takes to go from one

value to another and back again. It is measured in milliseconds (ms). Lower numbers mean faster transitions and

therefore fewer visible image artifacts.

Page 13: Response Time .

Response time (technology) - Display technologies

1 Older monitors with long response times would create a smear or blur pattern around moving

objects, making them unacceptable for moving video. Long response times can be annoying to a viewer depending on the type of data being

displayed and how rapidly the image is changing or moving. Current LCD monitor

models (such as those with 120Hz or 240Hz refresh rates) have improved to the point that this is only seen with extreme contrasts. For

causes of motion blur, see Display motion blur.

Response time (technology) - Display technologies

1 For an LCD display, typical response times are 8 to 16 ms for black-white-black, or 2 to 6ms for grey-to-grey. The response time was traditionally

recorded at the full black ref/refref/refref/refref/refref/ref

Response time (technology) - Display technologies

1 The pixel response time is often confused with the Input lag|LCD input lag which adds another

form of latency to pictures displayed by LCD screens. An LCD screen with high response time

and significant input lag will not give satisfactory results when playing fast paced

computer games or performing fast high accuracy operations on the screen (e.g.

Computer-aided design|CAD). Manufacturers only state the response time of their displays and do not inform customers of the input lag

value.

LCD television - Response time

1 By 2000, LCD panels with response times around 20ms were relatively common in

computer roles

Page 17: Response Time .

1 This change, which was isolated to the driver electronics and

inexpensive to implement, improved response times by about two times.

Page 18: Response Time .

LCD television - Response time

1 Together, along with continued improvements in the liquid crystals

themselves, and by increasing refresh rates from 60Hz to 120 and 240Hz, response times fell from 20ms in 2000 to about 2ms in the best modern displays. But even this is not

really fast enough because the pixel will still be switching while the frame is being

displayed. Conventional CRTs are well under 1ms, and plasma and OLED displays boast

times on the order of 0.001ms.

Ambulance Service of New South Wales - Response Times

1 According to data obtained from the government for the 2011-2012 period, almost three-hundred

patients who required immediate assistance had to wait 45 minutes or more for an ambulance, fifty of the

three-hundred patients were in potentially life-threatening situations.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, distance is often cited as the main reason for long response times.

Emergency service - Response time

1 A common measurement in benchmarking the efficacy of

emergency services is 'response time', the amount of time that it

takes for emergency responders to arrive at the scene of an incident

after the emergency response system was activated. Due to the

nature of emergencies, fast response times are often a crucial component of the emergency service system.

Emergency medical services in South Africa - Response times

1 There are currently no official response time standards in the South African system. However, response times of fifteen minutes for high-

acuity calls in urban areas are considered acceptable, and in rural areas, response times of up to forty

minutes for similar calls are not uncommon.

Emergency Medical Services in the United States - Response times

1 Another issue which arises in urban areas is that the response time

'clock' almost universally stops when the unit arrives in front of the

address; in large office or apartment buildings, actually accessing the patient may take several minutes

longer, but this is not considered in response time calculation or

reporting.https://store.theartofservice.com/the-response-time-toolkit.html

Surge protector - Response time

1 Therefore, response time under standard testing is not a useful measure of a surge protector's ability when comparing MOV devices. All MOVs have response times measured in nanoseconds, while test waveforms usually used to design and

calibrate surge protectors are all based on modeled waveforms of surges measured in

microseconds. As a result, MOV-based protectors have no trouble producing

impressive response-time specs.
