2. Enter your information and you should receive an email with your log in information within 72 hours

3. Log in at https://sds-tepper.sona-systems.com/

4. IMPORTANT: Select the course in which you are enrolled [after logging in, click “my profile”, then “change course”]

How to get credit

• 1. Sign up for a study• 2. Participate in the study • 3. Assign the credits earned for that

study to the desired course. – THIS IS NOT DONE AUTOMATICALLY– You must do this yourself – or you won’t get

credit!

Quality of Research• All studies posted in the CBDR participant pool have

been reviewed by the CMU Institutional Review Board (IRB)– The primary responsibility of the IRB is to assure that

appropriate steps are taken to protect the rights and welfare of humans participating in research.

• All studies have been evaluated to minimize risk to the participant and maximize value for the participant

Important tips• IMPORTANT: Photo ID with the name spelled exactly as in the

participant account information is required for participation.

• Contact the researcher listed for the study, not the lab, about questions specific to the study.

• You are welcome to participate in the paid studies, but you will not receive course credit for them.

• Check periodically to make sure you are receiving appropriate credits and they are allocated correctly across courses.

Availability• Studies generally become available around the third week

of classes and will end close to two days before the last day of classes.

• Start early! There are more studies available earlier in the semester.

• You do NOT need to report participation to your instructor.

No Shows• Don’t get them!• You can cancel your sign up until 24 hours before your are

scheduled to show up. • If you realize you can’t make it after the deadline, you can

email the researcher(s) associated with the study to tell them you can’t make it.

• Get three and your account is limited for three months. • You must email me after three months to lift the ban (

[email protected]).
