NIH Modular Budgets • OCGA will not ask for, look for, or review detailed budgets for NIH modular applications.
• While detailed budgets are not required by NIH they are important to have when calculating F&A cost base, writing justifications, and for audit purposes
• PIs/Departments are required to ensure that all costs charged are in accordance with applicable cost principles NIH Grants Policy Statement legislatively imposed restrictions (e.g., salary cap)

• Requests for Authorization to Spend (RAS) are processed in accordance with UCLA Policy 920

Why did OCGA Deny my RAS? • The same issues that prevent OCGA from
accepting an award will prevent OCGA from approving a RAS Human/animal subjects without IRB/ARC approval COI disclosure and/or reporting requirements not

Did you know? In ERS… Payroll transfers processed after the effort report has been
certified will “open-reissue” effort reports. Column “B” must be adjusted to match column “A” before the report is recertified
Negative percent (%) is usually a duplicate payroll transfer resulting
