#Protein Name ORF ID
Target Request ID Source Org. Target Score pI Residues
Size (kDa)
1 EFHA1 GO.111445 HR6565 TR. Homo sapiens 709500950190000000 9.2 434 50
Alt.names: EF-hand domain-containing family member A1
Requestor (Vamsi Mootha) notes : ** CONFIDENTIAL ** Interacting partner for CBARA1/MICU1. Like CBARA1/MICU1, it also has two EF hands, and although it has a predicted TM domain by some programs (but not all!) it is also soluble based on our studies. It forms tight interactions with CBARA1. We would like to express it, too. And it would be very interesting to co-crystallize the two proteins (CBARA1/MICU1 and EFHA1) together as they likely form a very tight complex that is calcium responsive.
MPP notes (dja): GO.111445 is in Year 1 List A, and its length of 434 aa matches the Uniprot canonical sequence. NESG selected it a long time ago, no further action. It’s presumably involved in calcium uptake. Uniprot notes “It is unsure if this protein binds calcium as none of the 4 EF-hand domains seem to contain a canonical calcium-binding site” . It has an Ala-rich N-terminus (2-50), four EF hand domains (within 172-397), and a predicted phosphorylated Ser (205). There are no significantly similar structures or models. There are conflicting predictions of signal peptide/TM domain, with several sources predicting one or the other within aa 1-49. The clone Failed to PCR from the Harvard collection, requestor can send.
