I.a History of PERMIKA Montreal
PERMIKA Montreal was founded on February 21, 1990 by the Master and
PHD students who receive scholarships. Most of the students were studying at
McGill University. For nearly 23 years, PERMIKA Montreal does not always

Montreal again starting 2009. But unlike the previous years, these Indonesian
students are relatively younger (high school students, college students, and
university students). Just before 2009, PERMIKA didn’t have many students. In
the middle of winter in 2011, the revival PERMIKA Montreal and officially have

accompanied by Cynthia Sari, Danan Wicaksono, Kharinda Zahra and Kara Katon

be asked to provide the speech. Prospective executives are selected by the member
through the voting. The most voted student will become the executives. For the
position of president and vice president, the most voted student becomes the

I.d Logo
PERMIKA Montreal updated its logo in 2011. Combining the idea of an
eagle, shield, puppet (wayang), and Canada produce a logo that is simple and very
meaningful.
• Eagle represents strength, grandeur and glory.
• The shield symbolizes the defense
• Puppet (wayang) is one of the typical Indonesian cultures
• Canada is the country of residence of the student organization
When combined, it means showing the splendour and glory of Indonesia in
academic and social life at the international level as well as to spread the

PERMIKA Montreal became a pioneer in the history PERMIKA. The idea is one
of the main goals PERMIKA Montreal started at the first meeting. Raka is also
actively involved in the PPI London, Birmingham and share its experience.
Combine with the idea of a conference initiated by Kharin where she had attended
a conference at Queen's University. Full support by the execs PERMIKA Montreal,
gave a positive thing for going along towards common goal of creating a state of
PPI. Irfani proposed the idea to provide a summary of the results of the general
meeting PERMIKA . Cynthia and Haqeem work together to prepare the details of
the event and the need for additional facilities. Rachel has responsibility for
leading the session . Kara made a video documentation . Bariqi takes care of the
details of transport . As a coordinator, we are responsible for planning of event. At
that time there were only two branches that can be reached PERMIKA, PERMIKA
Calgary and Toronto. In the proses, we managed to contact PERMIKA other
branches. 8 branches and PERMIKA representatives attend the annual conference
of the National PERMIKA which was held at the Embassy of Indonesia, Ottawa .
This results in a conference coordinator for three regions of the country , Iman ,
Fawzi , Mich. , and is supported by a core team Irfani , Pipin and Ben . And has
prepared a work program with AD / ART , websites , newsletters , and a talent
show . Until now there is still no exact clarity after the conference.
