REPORT OF PRERNA SOHALA

1st August, 2016

Introduction:

Prerna Sohala is celebrated every year on the occasion of birth anniversary of

Late Shankarlalji Khandelwal, the source of inspiration of our institution, on 1st

August, 2016. This day is also a day of special significance for our Nation and

particularly Maharashtra as it is the death anniversary of Shri Lokmanya Tilak and

Birth anniversary of Lokshahir Shri Annabhau Sathe. In this programme every year

meritorious and topper students are felicitated.

Vision for the program:

To orient and inspire the students for achievements. This inspiration serves as a driving

force not only for the students but also for all those who are involved in the program to set and

achieve their goal for personal development. The event is also a tool for orientation of our

students, for our motto that is ‘Education for Life and Life for Nation.’

Mission:

This program is a part of our mission that our students are godly and have tremendous

potential. We strive for channelizing their potential in right direction for achieving National

goal.

Objectives:

• To create enthusiasm and positive energy for the new academic session.

• To inspire the students for making achievements in their life by felicitating the

achievers of past academic session in a magnificent way.

• To inculcate the value of social responsibility in students by arranging blood

donation camp and tree plantation.


Brief Summary of the Event:

Prerna Sohala was celebrated on 30th July and 1st August 2016. The

Events of 30th July

1) Blood Donation Camp:

Blood donation camp was organized by NSS department in

collaboration with Hedgewar Rakt Pedhi, Akola. It was inaugurated at 09

a.m. at the hands of honourable Dr. Abhijit Lahud and Dr. Sameer

Deshmukh in the presence of respected Principal and other staff members.

Prof. Arachana Khandelwal and Dr. M.O.Malpani were program officers who

coordinated the event. Total 38 students of different departments donated

blood on the occasion.


2) Tree Plantation:

On the Auspicious occasion of ‘Prerna Sohala’ tree plantation was done on

30th July 2016 in the college premises by N.S.S. & Environmental Studies

committee at 10.00 am. Trees were planted at the hands of chief guest

respected Dr. Abhijit Lahud sir and Principal of our college, Dr. Jagdish

Saboo sir.


Events of 1st August 3) Personality Development Workshop

Special guest Shri Ganeshji Halkare, Resource person, YASHDA, Pune spoke on

Personality Development and its Importance. He also emphasized on the important qualities

for becoming successful in life.

4) Prize Distribution Program:

Honourable Dr. Murlidharji Chandekar, Vice Chancellor, SGBAU, Amravati was the

Chief Guest for this program. Prizes were announced by Dr. Jayashree Sakalkale. President of

SPM, Dr. Taratai chaired the session while Adv Rajeshwarji Deshpande, Dr. Ambadas Mohite

and Principal Dr. J.M. Saboo were present on the Dias for prize distribution. Program started

with lightening of lamp. Prizes were distributed to students for their achievements in

academics and sports. Prizes were sponsored by the teachers and some persons form

society. Letters of appreciation were given to many staff members. Chief Guest Dr.

Murlidharji Chandekar delivered highly inspiring speech about the key personality traits for

becoming a successful person.
