1. INFORMATION1.1 Background Information 1.1.1. General Mekelle University, as part of its Endeavour to step up the quality and coverage of education, has sourced out a project to procure a consultative service for CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION, CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION AND DESIGN REVIEW OF MUSS 32 [Construction of Mekelle University Liaison Office at Addis Ababa (MUBP-90), Construction of Expansion of new Cafeteria & Renovation of old Cafeteria at Adihaki Campus (MUBP-91) and Construction of G+4 Class Room Building at Mekelle Hospital (MUBP-92)].

1.1.2.Project Location and site Plan The project site is located MUBP 90 in Addis Ababa, MUBP 91 in Adihaqi campus and MUBP 92 in Mekelle Hospital.

1.1.3.Project DescriptionThe Projects are Construction of liaison office at Addis Ababa site, Construction of Expansion of new Cafeteria & Renovation of old Cafeteria at Adihaki Campus and Construction of G+4 Class Room Building at Mekelle Hospital.

1.1.4.Workloads of the project As per the original contract of the project and the bill of quantities prepared, the estimated cost of the projects to execute all project work load including supplementary agreement is 46,128,466.08 Birr including all taxes.

5.0 SUPERVISION AND MONITORING5.1 Narrative ReportAll the permanent staff of the consultant’s has been assigned in the project during this reporting month and participated in the construction supervision and monitoring of activities in accordance to the contract document. These activities include inspection of construction activities, inspection and sampling of construction materials, monitoring laboratory tests, contract administration works and other related duties to control the accomplishment of the project within the time bound and budget in accordance with the General and particular Conditions of Contract and Technical Specifications.

5.2 Consultant’s StaffAs per the contract agreement the consultant has assigned all staffs required for the construction supervision of the project starting from the commencement date of the project (Appendix G)
