what is it all about . . .

To discuss options available to staff who require access to ICT systems when away from the office, (i.e. when homeworking, away at meetings, etc)

To explain the differences between levels of access available to ‘occasional homeworkers’ and ‘formal homeworkers’

To demonstrate how each system works

Occasional Homeworkers

Three options :

Outlook Web Accesshttps://dnpmail.dartmoor.gov.uk

Secure accesshttps://secure.dartmoor.gov.uk

Outlook Web AccessEnables you to access the email system, including your calendar,

contacts, tasks and notes.

Used to access your emails when away from the office Can also be used to turn on your out-of-office assistant, if you forget

when your leave the office Only available to staff Requires a valid network password, (if your password expires you

won’t be able to logon via Outlook Web Access

Secure AccessProvides access to network files, in particular the U:Drive and individual

staff’s M:Drives, and also has links to both Parknet and Outlook Web Access

Files from both the U:Drive and M:Drive can be downloaded to your local PC and then worked on, before emailing back into the office or uploading again.

Wintime can be accessed via the Parknet link within Secure Access, enabling occasional homeworkers to record their working hours electronically

Only currently available to staff Requires a valid network password, (if your password expires you

won’t be able to logon via Secure Access

Formal Homeworkers

Formal homeworkers will have equipment supplied for their use, and a VPN connection to the DNPA network. This enables them to run the majority of the applications that are available as though they were logged onto a PC at Parke

A Broadband internet connection is required for the VPN connection to work.

Users are able to change their password via the VPN connection, if they expire.
