Institutional Church• The church held social gatherings, neighbors

came together for baptisms, marriages, funerals, special events. and together went on pilgrimages (big part of community life, if you’re a Jesus freak say hayyo!)

• Parishes distributed charity, cared for the orphans, and gave education to common people (what they could, was that an attempted joke?)

• During reformation the political power of rulers became more powerful then the church in their country

Gender Constructions and Education of Girls

• Rousseau believed that women and men were equal human beings but their sex made them different

• girls: educated on household duties, good mothering, and wifely obedience, focused on the study of sandwich making

• boys: educated in what interests them mostly academic subjects,

• They are similar as children and as adults what makes them different is their characteristics ;)

• men can't raise a child, women do this distinguishes them (and that other difference… hmm what was it again?)

• men don't have the love and patience and zeal to raise their children that women do, yea well… you're mom…
