1 John 2 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Three categories of sin.

We left off last time I preached on Sunday night discussing the third type -- Pride of life.

This sin produces a lot of side effects.

Small person trying to look big.

Confess your sin as sin.

Until you do, you will excuse it.

But I'm not the problem; she is.

Wrong!Don't look at your mate; look at yourself.

Don’t look at your friends; look at yourself.

From self-indulgence to generosity of spirit

From ME to thee

Strong enough to be gentle

Caring more for his family than for himself.

Gladly fulfilling his responsibility.

The spiritual leader in his home

Too many men want to be boss, but don’t want to lead in the right direction.

Loving and Submissive spirits

Keeping their homes well

Helps to their husbands

Training their children.

Content and at peace within

Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

“I try to help my husband.”

Have you ever really discussed with him HOW you could best be his help?

Men -- have you ever thought about it and told your wife how she could best

be your help?

Help doesn’t mean take responsibility.

Earning the living is the man’s responsibility.

His wife can help.

But if she is working on your responsibility,

You will have to work on hers.

If you don’t want to keep house, don’t expect your wife to earn half the living.

Sin is to blame, Sin is to blame.

Have you no hope for tomorrow,

Sin is to blame for it all.

I must acknowledge my sin,

Repent of my sin,

Turn from my wicked ways,

Unto the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
