Model Number: R120The Regulator-120 is a compact controller in the SSL color changing system with a small footprint, able to control up to 255 units of SSL color changing fixtures. With 8 mega-bytes of flash based memory the R120 can store up to 128 sets of programs for at least 3 years, even after the controller has been removed from the power supply. Each program can store at least 25 fps of changing effects in compressed data with minimum memory space required. The R120 features a panel program selector that allows manual control of the 128 pre set programs. With a fast speed balance differential signal protocol, the R120 performs extremely dynamic color changing effects not possible in other serial signal systems. With a built in TCP/IP port the R120 can connect to additional controllers and a PC; serving as a gateway for the additional controllers or DMX controller to communicate with the SSL system. An auxiliary data port can be configured for additional data output in a “Matrix” client-server environment, or can be used with Regulator-MS, a DMX program selector, and/or other accessories.

Chameleon LED Software

Chameleon offers unprecedented design capability for LED color changing systems. Not only can CAM-X systems operate “nice and easy” revolutionary text information, it also supports a standard animation format that performs dazzling color changing effects in the most user friendly way. Patent pending dynamic ID configuration and standard DMX-512 support allows CAM-X to offer endless design possibilities. The Chameleon LED color changing software can be downloaded at www.solidstateluminaires.com.

Step 1: Connect

1. Double click the Chameleon icon on your desktop.2. Key in the IP 192.168.3.127 under the “Server” heading (See Figure 1).3. Make sure there is a check mark in the box next to “Download program name” and click connect.4. The system will ask you for a password (See Figure 2). Once the “Connect” button is shown in bold and the “Disconnect” button has faded, you are now connected to the Regulator 250.5. If the connection was unsuccessful, please check your LAN connection and the IP address, then try to connect to the Regulator 250 again.6. After you have successfully connected to the Regulator 250 you can now control the attached LED fixture. Click “Turn On” to turn on the LED fixture and “Turn Off” to turn off the LED fixture.

Step 2: Color Setting and Upload Program

You may set the LED fixtures’ color and brightness manually by choosing “Color” on the left hand side of the Chameleon window. There are two options for color mixing, RGB and HSV (See Figure 3).

1. RGBDrag the arrows along the RGB color slider or manually enter your desired R, G, or B values (0-255) into the boxes to the right of the color bars. Once the color you desire is shown click “Send” and the LED fixture will display the chosen color.

2. HSVDrag the arrows along the HSV color slider or manually enter your desired H, S, or V values (0-100) into the boxes to the right of the color bars. Once the color you desire is shown click “Send” and the LED fixture will display the chosen color.

“Program” is for the uploading and execution of light effects1. There are 32 programs located in memory and you can view each programs file name by choosing “Download program name” before connecting the Regulator 250. Choose the program you would like the LED fixture to display and click “Run” (See Figure 4).2. Use “Upload” to upload effects created by your own lighting designer.
