LightPOINTS Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

KEEP LOVING HIM & LOVING OUR WORLD TO HIM!

DELAYED! Don’t you hate delays. Traff ic delays, project delays, developmental delays are a l l

examples of frustrating realities. But not all delays are bad. Just ask Jonah. I think he was disappointed at first when God didn’t answer his prayer to be delivered from the belly of the big fish. God delayed three days…..that had to be frightening and frustrating. He had to be confused about the perceived delay. However, the Lord knew what He was doing. Had He been on Jonah’s schedule, Jonah would have been spit out on day one and drowned in the middle of the sea. However, God’s will and God’s timing are always perfect. God delayed so that the big fish could swim in from the middle of the sea three days to spit Jonah up on SAFE and DRY ground. Delays can be a good thing. Well, we have experienced a delay to our 3-2-1 Launching of a new schedule and the opening of our newly renovated Annex. Delays are frustrating but we trust that the Lord has a plan in mind. We are trying to discern what that looks like for the future and will be bringing an update as soon as we have a more exact completion date. Outdoor Movie Night was a blast even though it was on one of the hottest days of the months. A special thanks goes out to Brett Hay, the staff, the deacons and all of the volunteers who put so much work into such a wonderful community blessing. We were all sad to hear the news that the Lord has

opened a door for Cesar and his family to serve at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Cesar’s last day was August 12th. We held a reception for him and his family. You turned out in great numbers to join me and Cami in showing our love and appreciation for all the Arochas have meant to us here at PCBC. Your special love offering was also presented to them. In the interim time, Shonn will be working with our Student Ministry Coordinators and volunteers to keep the momentum going until we find our next Student Pastor. Our Personnel Committee will be serving as the Search Committee to find the Lord’s will for our next Student Pastor. Please be praying for them during this critical time. CHURCH – Why Bother? is more than a sermon series at PCBC. It is a great question. Church – Why Bother with expanding and remodeling the Annex? Church – Why Bother reaching out to our community through events like Power Play, Crazy Summer Nights and Outdoor Movie Nights? Because Jesus bothered to leave His comfort zone (heaven) and came to earth to seek and save the lost. He bothered to take on a cross and die for our sins so that we might be forgiven and transformed. If He bothered…so should we!

Keep loving Him and loving our world to Him!

Bro. Bill

Parents, It has been a phenomenal summer! Your prayers and support for our student ministry have been invaluable. As our students begin the new school year, there are undoubtedly many things they are looking forward to. We are super excited for the new and improved Annex (student building) to open in the coming weeks! While this will be a new multi-functional space for our church family, we know our students will love it! With all the excitement, I wanted to let you know of one major change that will take place within our Student ministry. While completely unexpected for my family and me, the Lord has opened a new door for us that we know in our hearts we must walk through. It is with a heavy heart I inform you that our time at PCBC will be drawing to an end August 12th. It truly is a bitter sweet time. Although we are sad to leave PCBC, we are excited about the new opportunity God has called us to in this next chapter of our journey. We will be moving to Texas where I have accepted the High School Pastor position at Second Baptist Church in Houston. Again, while we are confident that this is God’s will for our family at this time, it is extremely difficult to leave what has become our family here at PCBC. It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve your students. I count it a blessing that you entrusted me the opportunity to speak into the lives of your teenagers. They have blessed my heart and I have loved being a small part of their journeys. I pray that I have guided them to a deeper and truer relationship with Jesus in the time I have been able to share my heart with them. I love your students, this ministry team, and this church. It is my greatest prayer that God will place the perfect person here to continue to pour into the lives of your students and the families of this church. I leave these students in the capable hands of our incredible Student Ministry staff that will be mentored by our Associate Pastor Shonn Keels. On behalf of my family and I, we cannot say thank you enough for the love, prayers, and support you have shown us. You have touched our hearts forever. You truly have become our family. We are

confident that the relationships God has blessed us with here will continue no matter where the Lord leads. We will pray for all of you as God guides us all through this transition. We truly pray nothing but God’s continued unity and greatest blessings on the PCBC family in the days ahead!

With great love and respect,Cesar Arocha

Thank you for all of your prayers and support.
