Midwest Regional Completes $3 Million Renovation Enhancing

Midwest Regional Medical Center, the community’s leading provider of high-quality cardiac care, announced the completion of its multi-phase, $3 million cath lab renovation. According to Stan Holm, CEO at Midwest Regional Medical Center, the extensive renovations project was completed in just 90 days and the cath lab area was able to remain open during the process without disruption in patient care. “Using the multi-phase method to complete the project allowed us to keep disruption to service at a minimum and finish the renovations on schedule,” said Holm. “We are confident that the newly-renovated cath labs will not only improve the overall experience our patients have at Midwest Regional, but will also make the working environment for the staff and physicians more efficient and enjoyable.” Holm added, “This renovation is another example of how we are fulfilling our mission to identify and exceed expectations of quality care.” The complete rebuild of two cath labs at the hospital included new flooring, ceiling, work space and office equipment. All three cath labs received the latest generation of cardiovascular technology, including the GE INOVA X-ray system. Because images will be available at a higher resolution, that will increase diagnostic capabilities at Midwest Regional. “Basically, the entire cath lab area is new and offers a step up in diagnostic capabilities,” said Rich Wilmoth, Execu-tive Director of Cardiology Services. The cath labs were redesigned to provide improved patient flow, pa-tient privacy and customized work space for physicians and staff. Including input from both staff and physicians, the new physicians work area is now located closer to the patients. “The blue prints for the design were a collaborative effort,” explained Wilmoth. “Our cardiologists, cath lab staff and other team members all gave input into the design and as a result, the new labs are much more efficient.” Holm added, “As we continue to focus on the patient experience at Midwest Regional, additional renovations outside the cath lab are planned.”

Tinker Gate Gets New Support Sign

The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce and the City of Midwest City have placed a new support sign at the main entrance gate to Tinker Air Force Base at I-40 and Air Depot Blvd. The 8 foot by 22 foot reflective sign is sponsored by the Chamber, the City, FNB MWC, Tinker Federal Credit Union, Comfort Inn & Suites and Senator Cliff Aldridge. The foundation of Midwest City’s existence is its mission as a support community for Tinker Air Force Base. This sign illustrates that support.
