Regatta to be the first to launch a lifejacket appro-ved by both US Coast Guard and Lloyd’s according to MSC. 200(80)The lifejacket ”Regatta Kon Tiki Royal” has after extensive testing been approved by US Coastguard according to the new standard MSC 200(80) which is entering into force in 2010. Regatta has also achieved MED-B certificate for Kon-Tiki Royal, and is the first and so far the only company in the world to offer a lifejacket for passenger ships with the two approvals on the same product.

Regatta AS is the only manufacturer outside of USA that also has a former approval from USCG for passenger lifejackets. The tests have been performed by Underwriters Labora-tories in North Carolina, USA. The new regulation will enter into force for all new build-ings after 2010 and will be standard for passenger- and cruise ships all over the world.

Kon Tiki Royal has considerable better buoyancy and turning power than required due to existing regulations. The lifejacket is designed for comfort, with focus on faceangle and freeboard. Comfortable collar gives vital support to the head and neck as well as extra protection against water entering the airways. Easy donning. Minimum space when sto-red correctly.
