SAN DIEGO (Nov. 10, 2016) – Spectrum Miami, a juried contemporary art show taking place Nov. 30 – Dec. 4 in the heart of the Arts and Entertainment District, announces its lineup of specially curated programs, including Art Labs, Art Talks, Spotlight Artists, ArtSpot Miami, and more. The abundance of trend-setting artists and galleries exhibiting at Spectrum Miami will reflect this year’s theme, [ELEVATE]— Heightening your senses at the hub of the art world. ART LABSArt Labs feature specially curated site-specific projects by prominent Miami-based galleries, art institutions, and art collectives within the show. Major Art Labs this year include:

ART LOVES FASHIONTaking place on Wednesday, November 30 from 6-10 p.m., this private event from Planet Fashion TV will feature fashion shows, cocktails, and a live performance by a special celebrity recording artist.

[PLATFORM] ARTIST OF THE YEAR AWARDSMeet the [PLATFORM] Artist of the Year Awards Winner and Finalists and view their artwork. Attendees can vote for their favorite. It's a program created by Redwood Media Group, in partnership with Art Brand Studios, to empower talented artists and introduce their work to the world. The Fan Favorite will be announced during the Artexpo New York Opening Night Preview Party on Friday, April 21, 2017.

ARTSPOT MIAMISpectrum Miami will once again host ArtSpot Miami —a show within a show—curated by director Aldo Castillo, one of the most respected authorities on modern and contemporary art. ArtSpot will present carefully selected modern, contemporary, and cutting-edge galleries with a strong Latin-American emphasis.

SPOTLIGHT ARTISTEvery year, Spectrum Miami’s Spotlight Artist Program provides collectors a focused look at several cutting-edge artists who will each be creating a site-specific solo exhibition. This year, the artists selected are Michele A Utley Voigt, Nick Fedaeff, Elka Leonard and Michael Shewmaker.

Time, proximity, and environment all influence how and why an artist creates. Looking at past and current works of several artists, including David Hilliard, Linda will explore how her work and the work of others has changed over their careers.

Friday, December 2: ART TALK: DESIGN FRIDAY! DEFINING YOUR COLLECTIONRobin Hodes, Editor and Designer, Florida Design MagazineJoin Robin Hodes and her panel as they discuss how to identify your taste, define your style, and collect what you love. They'll discuss color, theme, genre, and interpretive message, plus how to incorporate it all into your home decor.

Attendees will hear details of the classic techniques used in making the Suzhou embroidery works and fresco panel paintings, as well as how to collect and live with contemporary works deeply rooted in the history and tradition.

Tickets for Spectrum Miami’s Opening Night Preview Party are priced at $50. General Admission tickets are $20 for one day and $75 for the Opening Night Preview plus a five-day pass. Tickets will also grant you access to Red Dot Miami, a gallery-only show also owned by Redwood Media Group that is located right next to Spectrum Miami.
