SisterHouse Financial Statements
SisterHouse is tax exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our revenue comes from individual donations, grants from corporations and foundations, church donations, fundraising, earned income, and a yearly contribution from the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Like many nonprofits SisterHouse relies on donor contributions. Our contributors have continued to express their belief in our mission by providing monetary gifts. These donations keep SisterHouse accessible and open to serve the next woman in need.
We are truly grateful for the continued financial support provided by churches, grants, foundations, and individuals. We do not take your giving lightly. We are blessed to have you.

A Message from our T he Chair of the Board
SisterHouse has been aiding women in recovery for over 35 years! Our faith-oriented community is made possible because of your generosity. We are so very grateful for your support. The women of SisterHouse, past and present, have worked hard at transforming their lives and by being devoted to a rigorous multi-step program. You can be proud of the generous financial support you have provided in the past year. Along with each of you, we are proud of the women who walked through the door of SisterHouse for the very first time ready to do the truly hard work of creating a new life for themselves and others around them.
Our SisterHouse community welcomed Lisa Steward-Baugh to the staff in 2017 as our new Executive Director. Lisa came to us with many years of experience working with individuals in recovery programs. Additionally, 2017 was another successful fundraising year for SisterHouse with our two signature events, Spring Fling & Bling and Fall Fundraiser at FitzGerald's. Many new people were introduced to SisterHouse in 2017 and we are planning more events and opportunities for people to learn of our work and mission.
Thank you for your ongoing support and generosity.Susan Lescher, SisterHouse Board Chair

Moments of Reflection from our Alumni
I'm Deirdre H.,
My SisterHouse experience started right after a 90-day treatment program in 2014. I was 52 then and had been involved with drugs and alcohol since I was 13. Coming into SisterHouse at a late age was not easy. I wasn't use to anyone having control over my life, except me. I also knew that I couldn't let fear or being uncomfortable stop me from getting the help that I needed to save my own life. I walked in the door of SisterHouse and immediately knew I was home. Ms. Rochelle opened the door and I felt her aura; It was firm but gentle and very motherly. All the characteristics needed to help me recover. When I was introduced to the meditation room, I was resistant. I had no idea that this was my introduction to my spiritual self. Moving forward, I embraced all the other components of the program, including the challenges I faced living with the other women in the house. It wasn't easy, but I learned to cope.
After completing the Cara Program I landed full-time employment at Rivers Casino, obtained my own place and eventually purchased a new car. Today, I work for the Board of Education. I also continue to do all the things I learned while at SisterHouse like; meditation, staying in contact with my awesome sponsor and prayer. I am also an active member of the SisterHouse Alumni, something I always wanted to do when I was a resident. I remember seeing the alumi come by and give their time and wisdom, and I wanted that. It was so inspiring for me.
I pray that I am a beacon of light for the next sister at SisterHouse.
