تاريكيست آية من هستي همة

تكراركنان خود در ترا كه

to the dawn of eternal growths

and blossoming.

و شكفتن ها سحرگاه بهخواهد ابدي رستن هايبرد

in this chant, I sighed you

sighed!

آه ترا آيه اين در منآه كشيدم،

in this chant,

I grafted you to the tree, to the water, to the fire.

a long street,

شايد زندگي

درازست خيابان يك

through which a woman holding

a basket passes every day,

مي گذرد آن از زنبيلي با زني روز هر كه

Life is perhaps

a rope with which a man hangs himself from a branch,

شايد زندگي

كه ريسمانيستخود آن با مردي

شاخه از رامي آويزد

life is perhaps a child returning home from school.

مي گردد بر مدرسه از كه طفليست شايد زندگي

سيگاري افروختن شايد زندگيدو رخوتناك فاصلة در باشد،

همآغوشي

Life is perhaps lighting up a cigarettein the narcotic repose between two love-makings,

or the absent gaze of a passer-by

who takes off his hat to another passer-by,

with a meaningless smile and

a good morning .

باشد رهگذري گيج يانگاه

مي دارد بر سر از كاله كه

لبخندي با ديگر رهگذر يك به ومي گويد بي معني

Life is perhaps that enclosed moment,

when my gaze destroys itself in the pupil of your eyes,

مسدوديست لحظة آن شايد زندگي

ني ني در من نگاه تو كه خود چشمانمي سازد ويران را

and it is in the feeling

which I will put into the moon's impression and the night's perception.

In a room as big as loneliness

تنهايي ست يك باندازة كه اتاقي در

which is as big as love…

من دل

يك باندازة كه

عشقست

looks at the simple pretexts of its happiness,

مي نگرد خود خوشبختي سادة بهانه هاي به

at the beautiful decay of flowers in the vase,

گلدان در گل ها زيباي زوال به

at the sapling you planted in our garden

كاشته اي خانه مان باغچة در تو كه نهالي به

and the song of canaries

which sing to the

size of a window.

قناري ها آواز به و

پنجره يك باندازة مي خوانندكه

My lot is going down a flight of disused stairs,

پلة يك از رفتن پائين من سهمآه متروك ست

a regain something amid putrefaction and nostalgia.

غربت و پوسيدگي در چيزي به وگشتن واصل

My lot is a sad promenade in the garden of memories

خاطره هاست باغ در حزن آلودي گردش من سهم

and dying in the grief of a voice which tells me

I love

your hands!

من به كه دادن جان صدائي اندوه در ومي گويد را « دستهايت

« مي دارم دوست

I will plant my hands in the garden

I will grow, I know, I know, I know!

مي كارم باغچه در را دستهايم

… شد خواهم مي دانم، سبز ،مي دانم مي دانم،

and swallows will lay eggs

in the hollow of my ink-stained hands….

انگشتان گودي در پرستوها وجوهريم

گذاشت خواهند تخم

I shall wear

a pair of twin cherries as ear-rings,

مي آويزم گوشم دو به گوشواري

همزاد سرخ گيالس دو از

and I shall

put dahlia

petals on my

finger-nails.

ناخن هايم به وكوكب گل برگ

مي چسبانم

There is an alley

where the boys who were in love with me,

still loiter with the same unkempt hair, thin necks and bony legs,

آنجا در كه هست كوچه اي

بودند، عاشق من به كه پسرانيهنوز

گردن هاي و درهم موهاي همان با

الغر پاهاي و باريك

and think of the innocent smiles of a little girl….

مي انديشند دختركي معصوم تبسم هاي به

who was blown away by the wind one night.

را او يكشب كه

برد خود با باد

There is an alley

which my heart has stolen

from the streets of my childhood.

آنرا من قلب كه هست كوچه اي

دزديده ست كودكيم محله هاي از

The journey of a form along the line of time,

زمان خط در حجمي سفر

inseminating the line of time with the form,

كردن آبستن را زمان خشك خط حجمي به و

a form conscious of an image,

آگاه تصويري از حجمي

coming back from a feast in a mirror.

برمي گردد آينه يك مهماني ز كه

And it is in this way

that someone dies…

…and someone lives on.

بدينسان ست و

مي ميرد كسي كه

مي ماند كسي و

No fisherman shall ever find a pearl in a small brook

which empties into a pool.

گودالي به كه حقيري جوي در صيادي هيچكرد مرواريديمي ريزد، نخواهد صيد

I know a sad little fairy

who lives in an ocean,

من

را غمگيني كوچك پري

در كه مي شناسمدارد مسكن اقيانوسي

and ever so softly

plays her heart into a magic flute!

در را دلش ولبك ني يك

چوبين

مي نوازد، آرام آرام،

who dies with one kiss each night

غمگيني كوچك پري

مي ميرد بوسه يك از شب كه
