What makes a Woman Real?

Is it Beauty?

Or Grace?

Maybe it’s Status?

Or Friends?

Relationships?

Possibly Image?

No. None of these things define a woman. A woman is

not made by the world. A woman makes herself. A

woman makes her own path and chooses her own destiny. A star can be born any day, as long as she believes that she

shines.

So I ask again: What makes a Woman Real? Truly, utterly, undeniable real? As real as

flesh and bone.

Here are just some of the things that a real woman can

be:

SillyDoing what you love can make you real and being who you are. Having friends that support you and care for you is incredibly important. Be you, no matter what it takes. Follow your dreams (and maybe have some fun while doing it).

Funny

The comedy star and writer, Tina Fay, is not only hilarious but incredibly independent. She may not be the best example of a real woman in the world, but if she is not being herself, I do not know who is.

Bold

Marissa Mayer, the CEO of Yahoo, went on maternity leave and came back to work just days after. When she returned she did as well as she had before her leave. This goes against many people’s belief that once a woman starts a family they will not do as well as they had before they had their child or they will take a long leave before they return to work to stay with their family.

CourageousSusan B. Anthony led the women’s suffrage movement to gain women the right to vote. Without Anthony’s determined attitude and willingness to give all she had, who knows where women would be.

EducationEducation can change a girls life and help them fulfill their dreams. Girls that receive a good education can do things that they never even imagined to be possible.

The point is that women can be anything they want to be. I challenge you to find a way, as small as it may be, to help

women in the world. Help them to become Real Women as you grow to become more

Real, too.
