of test security or confidentiality. Disciplinary action at both the local

and state levels may be taken against the test administrator, including

suspension or termination of educator certification credentials. Testing Personnel:

The district may elect to invalidate the student’s test. Additional disciplinary actions may be taken at the local level in

accordance with district policy. Any locally-determined disciplinary actions stemming from the

cheating must be submitted to TEA via the online reporting form. A separate online incident report form and documentation are

necessary only if the district determines that testing personnel contributed to, caused, or did not detect the cheating due to inadequate monitoring or another error.

There must be at least one (1) dictionary for every five (5) students.

It is recommended that there be one (1) thesaurus for every five (5) students.

Students may also use a combination dictionary / thesaurus.

The use of foreign-language reference material is NOT permitted unless student is eligible to use such materials described in the Accommodations Manual.

All answers must be marked on an answer document with a No. 2 pencil.

Answers marked in a nonscorable test booklet will NOT be scored.

Test administrators are not allowed to require students to first mark their answers in the test booklet and then transfer them to the answer document.

Students may be allowed to use highlighters or colored pencils in the nonscorable test booklets to emphasize important information on a subject-area test.

Test administrators must collect a students test material if they finish their test earlier than others.

Test administrators must quickly scan the completed answer document only to verify that responses are marked. Test administrators may not look at or comment on answers to individual test questions or point out individually-skipped test items.

If the student has not done so, the test administrator must say, “You have not recorded responses on the answer document. Please go back and mark your answers on it now.”

Test materials should then be returned to the students so they may fill in their answers.

After test is collected, students may be allowed to quietly read a book. These students will not be allowed to do any other activity while others are still testing. Absolutely NO talking will be allowed.

Immediately after each test session, the test administrator must return test materials to the POD administrator.

Test administrators will be required to sign the bottom of their oaths after the entire administration has been completed.
