2015 has been a wonderful year of music. It started with us being announced as the new Music Captains for 2015. Then we became members of the Recorder and Percussion Ensemble and the Taiko Group. We continued our involvement in the Senior Choir and The GYPSIES who are now playing with a new conductor, Mr Julian Banks. Two of the highlights for the Senior Choir this year was singing at the Winter Music Festival and the Waverley Music Eisteddfod. It was very exciting performing to such a big audience and listening to all the other choirs. We did a great job. We will also perform at the Oxfam Music Festival later in the year together with the Taiko Group. A highlight for the whole school will be singing for ‘Music Count Us In’ where schools all over Australia will sing the same song on the same day at the same time. We are looking forward to leading the special ‘Music Count Us In’ Assembly. It was great to see all the grades enjoy Sounds Baroque performing with baroque instruments and we loved getting involved in the Taiko Drums and Flutes of Japan performance and taiko workshop. It was brilliant. We’d like to thank Mrs Odou for organising some great music experiences this year. We hope all goes well for the Music Captains next year and all the performing groups at Greythorn. We know you’ll have many fun music experiences. Anita Yang and Dante Graham Music Captains Music
