Tournament Chairman of the Memorial Tournament and long time personal friend of Jack
Nicklaus, Mr. Bob Hoag.
These items were given to Mr. Hoag by Jack Nicklaus for his collection and they have
remained in the Hoag Collection for over 40 years. These items are a one of a kind
opportunity and have never been offered anywhere else, a rare piece of Golf History from the
greatest player ever in golf.
31. 1972 Masters Tournament – “The ball and glove used by Jack Nicklaus in his last
round, cut on the last hole, in his 1972 Masters Win” the above info was written by
Mr. Hoag in blue pen on the back of his business card and has remained inside the
glove while on display at his home all these years. The Jack Nicklaus MacGregor ball
bears the cut cover described by Mr. Hoag in his personal description. All the items are

32. 1972 – US Open Tournament @ Pebble Beach GL – “Ball & glove used in the last round
& 18th hole, US Open Pebble Beach 1972” as was written on a business card from Mr.
Hoag and placed inside the glove that was on display at the Hoag home for over 40
years. The ball is a MacGregor Tourney with Jack Nicklaus printed on the side of the
ball. Again another significant piece of golf history, both items and the hand written
