Cover Photo This picture was made March 21, 1961. We had arrived back in Halifax as we had an injured man aboard and had to come in to get him to RCNH. We had been alongside for a few hours so this picture was taken after we had been able to get rid of the ice stopping us from getting forward to the fokcle. The area that you see this man was not open while we were at sea. We had spent two or more hours with steam lines and axes getting rid of the ice be-fore this picture was taken. We, as sailors accepted what had happened and were a little pissed because the Admi-ral came down, looked at the ship and said it was time to get back out to sea to continue the job that we were re-sponsible to do. That was to look for Russian submarines that may be out there. We were sailors and we did our duty. Yours is not to question why, yours is to do or die. I still believe that.
