G’day Rangers, to all the Dads out there I hope you had a wonderful, sock, jock

and tie day and managed to spend some quality time with you fathers, sons and /

or daughters.

A couple of things to start with. Firstly, I would like to welcome the 2020/21

committee. Thanks to those who recommitted to the committee and those new

members who nominated and were subsequently elected, it is greatly

appreciated. I look forward to working with you all to drive the Club forward. On

that note, it has been a few years since we had a “have your say” feedback

session. So given we have a new committee, I have asked Chris (our VP) to pen us

in for another session at the Oct meeting. So, put you thinking caps on and let us

know what you would like to see. It can relate to anything, trips, merch, website,

property, comms, meetings etc. Opportunity knocks.

Secondly, I’m not sure that we will get a magazine out this month. Please be

patient whilst we set up our new editor (Trish…thanks Trish for nominating) and

she gets her computer up to speed.

Our 25th anniversary dinner / awards night is on this weekend. It isn’t too late to

register. I have received numerous emails from Chris (this years organiser) asking

for more of you to support the activity. All I will say here is, it would be nice if

more members would commit, particularly for the award recipients, venue

owners and our entertainer.

Loftyfest is rapidly approaching. I sent a flyer out a week or so ago with more

info, particularly re potential trips and the camp cook competition. Get your

favourite recipe out, as we will have three categories being judged with a small

prize for each… Bread, Main and Desert.

Beachport response for next year has been fantastic; most of the sites have been

allocated but not all. If you are still interested and haven’t been allocated a site,

contact me ASAP.

More good news, our annual Christmas event will be back at Wirrina

Cove. Thanks Kylie for persevering with the park managers. The activity

will be held over the weekend 21 November. We have currently been

allocated the open space near the shearing shed…yay. I have been in

touch with our Christmas caterer and will firm up details shortly. I will

send out further info within the next few weeks, so lock in the date and

keep an eye out for the info.

Oh, one last thing, for those that haven’t…don’t forget to renew your

membership.

Take care of yourself, and those around you – stay safe!

Next Meetings:

Next monthly meeting is 14 Sep 2020

PACKING A 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS AN ART - Story by Trish Dagri

Packing a 4 wheel drive for a camping trip, including the least

amount of necessities you need to rely on to ensure your trip

is comfortable can be quite a challenge.

Les Scott was quite impressed with what Rob Dagri had

achieved in the rear of his Prado so decided to do a re-fit to

his set up in his Land Cruiser. Les’s fit out was 2 drawers side

x side with a fridge slide to the top of the left hand drawer to

accommodate his 70 litre fridge.

So, the materials and hardware were sourced and with Rob’s

assistance and cabinetmaking expertise, after lots of

“measuring twice and cutting once” here are pictures of how

things progressed.

All cut
