INTRODUCTION
• Organization study in “Manipal Hospitals” throws light in to
its various departments and its functioning etc
• To get acquainted with various department including human
resource, marketing, systems department etc.
• Departments are also helpful for classification and
distribution of work, which actually leads to effectiveness in
business operations without overlapping of business
activities.
OBJECTIVES
• To get familiarized with the service of the organization
• To aware with the different departments in an organization
and It’s functioning.
• To understand how the key business process are carried out
in organizations.
• To understand how information is used in organization for
decision making at various levels
LIMITATIONS
• Due to the busy working schedules, interactions with most of the company officials were not possible.
• Time limitation.
• Lack of support from certain department due to their work load

• Medical care is the major function of the hospital organization.
• The function is to provide for the population complete health, the hospital is also a center for the training of health worker (WHO).
• The modern health care sector is divided into many sub-sectors.
• One of the worlds largest and fastest-growing industries consuming over 10 percent of gross domestic product (GDP)
• Hospital “is a charitable institution for the needy, aged, infant,
or young where the civic and injured are given medical care.
• It involves the service of a large number of persons
specialized in different areas.
• It also requires supporting service of paramedical and clerical
persons.

• started in 1953
• situated in Donapuala, Goa
• by the late Dr. T.M.A. Pai, a doctor, educationist, banker and
philanthropist.
• He also instituted India’s first private medical college,
Kasturba Medical College in 1955.

specialty hospital .

THREATS
• Competition from the multispecialty hospitals.
• High salaries for the nurses in other countries
• Shortage of experienced nurses.
FINDINGS
• Good reputation in the hospital industry.• Highly qualified and skilled employees• Good critical care service• The number of employees is high.• Employees have high stress at their work.• High labour turnover.• The hospital is trying for NABH accreditation.• Computerization of all departments is effective.
• The hospital has a strong commitment towards the patients and society.
• Proper Auditing • Performance appraisal system in the hospital
is not so efficient.• Induction training program are not organizing
regularly.
SUGGESTIONS
• Reduce the charges for services.
• Increase facilities for training and development for all
employees.
• Suggestions from employees should be obtained for
further improvement of the organization.
• It is advisable for the management to take appropriate
steps to acquire sufficient permanent man power.
• More Medical Camps and Awareness program should be conducted to increase the health awareness of the public.
• Shift timings should be rescheduled as per the
convenience of the staffs
CONCLUSION
• Manipal hospital, a cancer care Hospital is now a multi-specialty
• Hospital that provides emergency, recovery and rehabilitative care to the patients in addition to diagnosis and consultation.
• The hospital is in the process of getting NABH accreditation.
• The study came to the conclusion that the management system prevailing in the hospital is efficient for attaining the goal of the hospital.
