Product­range.Locomotive­Am­841.

8 The­Am­841­locomotive­is­a­four­axle­diesel­electric­loco-motive­with­an­elastically­mounted­cab­in­the­centre.­It was­designed­for­medium­duty­shunting­service,­brief­mainline­service­and­construction­site­operation.­It­was thus­equipped­with­an­electric­system­based­upon­three­phase­asynchronous­converter­technology­with­electric­resistance­brakes­and­hydrostatically­driven­auxil-iary­systems.

For­the­protection­of­the­environment,­the­Am 841­was­designed­for­low­noise­and­exhaust­emissions.

The­Am­841­can­be­remotely­controlled­by­radio­and­has­multiple­unit­control,­though­this­is­not­compatible­with other­vehicle­types.­With­the­multiple­unit­control,­up­to­three­Am­841s­can­be­operated­from­a­single­cab.­It is also­fitted­with­a­safety­control­system,­ATP,­ZUB,­ETM or­ETCS­plus­train­and­shunting­radio.

10 The LRZ 96SBB­transports­1.25­million­passengers­a­day.­Thislarge­passenger­volumes­in­connection­with­thethe­very­dense­railway­network­and­the­geographicalconditions­with­many­tunnels­and­mountains­are­theSBB­faces­major­challenges­in­terms­of­safety.­

For­this­reason,­SBB­relies­upon­fire­fighting­and­rescue­trains.­These­can­be­driven­directly­to­the­place­of­­deployment­and­are­made­up­of­a­fire­fighting­car,­equip-ment­car­and­rescue­car.­Diesel­locomotives­are­used­to­drive.­The­cars­of­the­fire­fighting­and­rescue­train­are­equipped­with­numerous­specialist­­devices.­

The­air­supply­of­around­760,000­liters­is­sufficient­to­provide­over­50­persons­with­fresh­air­for­6 hours.­A­gas­tight­rescue­container­with­air­curtain­unit­and­airlock­helps­to­prevent­the­ingress­of­contaminated­air­in­an­emergency.
