Radial Shaft Seals
High and Medium Pressure Radial Shaft Seals
-
World-ClassManufacturingSimrit standard and customradial shaft seals are produced in the world-classmanufacturing plants of TheFreudenberg and NOKGroup. By using our proprietary compounds, specialized designs, consistent manufacturingprocesses and Six-Sigmaquality standards, we canassure our customers of themost robust and reliableproducts available in the market.
Increased SealLongevityTypical radial shaft seals (i.e. TC design) can functionunder pressures up to 5 psi. When operating pressuresexceed this level, seal lifebecomes dramaticallyreduced due to the addedfriction and heat, unless theseal is designed to accommodate this high pressure condition.
Our standard line of TCV,BABSL and TCN, mediumand high pressure seals havea proven track record in avariety of pressure andspeed applications.

Better Sealing LipThese seals are designed witha spring-loaded lip, reinforcedmetal case and a short flexsection. Along with a definedlip geometry and proprietarymaterials, this ensures that thesealing lip does not lift or rollin high pressure applications.
In pressure seals, the main lipcontact pressure distributionis shifted towards the air sidedue to lip deformation andspring position. The increasedcontact band with the shaftincreases friction, heat generation and wear.

PRESSURE SEALSSeal must resist lip deformation to minimize friction, wear and heat.Seal material should have high mechanical strength to prevent seal extrusion.Shaft speed relates to pressure (as illustrated below).
