ASAVAnnual

Welcome from the PresidentThe Bain Fallon Memorial Lectures conference is the highlight of Eqine Veterinarians Australia's continuing education calendar and in 2019 we

have returned to beautiful Queensland. On behalf of EVA, I extend a warm welcome.

The EVA Education Committee has prepared an exceptional program. Featuring our three keynote speakers, and high calibre local speakers presenting throughout the week, there is a huge smorgasbord of educational content. The Clinical and Research Papers session is a key feature in the program and I look forward to the high quality presentations that it is now known for. A highlight of the week, the Pascoe Oration, will be presented by eminent veterinarian, Dr Sue Beetson, an EVA executive and AVA board member.

The Industry Exhibition will have more over 50 stands featuring the best in technology, services and

pharmaceuticals, and gives delegates who get their conference passports completed a chance to win some great prizes. In addition, Bain Fallon has a long history of collegiality and this year we once again look forward to catching-up with friends and making new ones, during the breaks and at Bain Fallon’s legendary social program.

I wish to pay tribute to the EVA organising committees, speakers, delegates, sponsors and exhibitors, because without them we could not continue to make Bain Fallon the largest and most successful equine veterinary conference in the Southern Hemisphere. Congratulations and thank you.

We have a sensational Bain Fallon conference ahead. A week of shared learning, supportive collegiality and a good deal of fun. I look forward to catching up with you during the week.

With thanks from the Education ChairWelcome back to the Gold Coast for the 41st Bain Fallon Memorial Lectures! We are thrilled to be able to present you with a week packed with educational opportunities, along with the great social program that Bain Fallon is famous for. The 'Ophthalmology and Dermatology' themed presentations delivered by our international keynotes are complemented by the 'lameness' themed presentations from our Australian

keynote. In addition, the very popular clinical abstract, how-I and twilight tutorial sessions make for a great program.

The week will start out with the ophthalmology workshop not to be missed, run by Professor Brian Gilger. Our keynote speakers are internationally renowned in their respective fields and we are grateful to Professors Brian Gilger, Stephen White and Dr Paul Robinson for coming to the Gold Coast to present to you. The week is sure to have something that will appeal to everyone.

Thank you to the education sub-committee, the executive, and last but certainly not least Jeffrey, Victoria and Elaine who do all the behind the scenes work to present you with, what we consider to be, the best week of equine CE event in the country!
