Remote Control Based Robot (Service Provider)
Remote Control Based Robot (Service Provider)
One of the most recognizable forms of intelligent systems is robotics, though the
issues in intelligent robots are common to other types of intelligent systems. Use of
robots is growing both on Earth and in space, in large part due to increased capacity for
machine intelligence. In industry, as in space exploration, acceptance of robotics requires
very high reliability. Robot is defined as a mechanical design that is capable of
performing human tasks or behaving in a human-like manner. From the industry and
space we propose to bring the advancements of science in everyday life and arrange
robots for commercial domestic uses.
Robots are comprised of several systems working together as a whole. Our
Remote Control Based Robot will act as a service provider that will serve the guests at
home and in parties and can also double up as a moving office records and files keeper.
The type of job the robot does dictate what system elements it needs. Robots can operate
by remote control or autonomously. It is capable of demonstrating an array of
applications. Our Robot can move around on wheels. This Remote Control Based service
provider can be moved/ controlled using remote control that is mainly transmitter based
and will employ a Joystick or a plain remote. Remote control sends information as decided
by the human operator.
This project will facilitate the understanding of the following topics:
Coding in Assembly for 8051 series Micro controller for time constraint
acquisition and transfer of data.
Relay mechanism through ULN2003.
Dc Motor control mechanism.
Stepper Motor control mechanism.
Receiver work function.
Remote control mechanism through micro controller.

The AT89C51 micro controller is the robot's brain and controls the robot's
movements. It's usually acts like a device, which is used to store information about the
robot and the work environment and to store and execute programs, which operate the
robot. The control system contains programs, relay control mechanism and various other
processing activities, which enable the robot to perform.
A remote control robot sends instructions from a human operator
through remote. Stepper motors behave differently than standard DC motors. Instead of
rotating continuously when power is applied, stepper motors move in small increments or
steps. Additionally, a stepper motor is constructed with several coil windings that must
be energized in the proper sequence to achieve shaft rotation. Reversal of the energizing
sequence will rotate the shaft in the opposite direction. Stepper motors are commonly

used in accurate motion control. They allow controlling any motion with high precision
by counting the number of steps applied to the motor. Our project describes how to drive
stepper motors with 89C51microcontroller. We are also using drivers (ULN2003). Relays
have been connected to one of the drivers. The ULN003 offers solutions to a great many
interface needs, including relays and motors.
