The kids are out of school and running around loose so you may need a little quiet time in your studio/sewing room/dining room table (whatever works). Now is an excellent time to finish up some of those UFO’S or start a new project. If you are into Halloween, we are now getting our holiday collections, both Christmas and Halloween. Come in for O p e n H o u s e on July 6 th to meet the teach- ers and see all the new projects available and try our wonderful baked goods. For those of you who sign up that day for a class, there is a free fat quarter! As usual there is a B u s T r i p p l a n n e d t o P I Q F on Saturday, October 18 th . We are currently taking sign-ups and it fills fast, so don’t forget to get on the list. We are also having our bi-annual R e t r e a t i n A u b u r n . It is a beautiful retreat at the Mercy Center. You will have private rooms, food and will be able to sew all day/night in a great room with fantastic company. The dates are November 7-9 th for $230. Saturday, August 9th, will be our annual C u s t o m e r A p p r e c i a t i o n S a l e ! Fabrics will be 25% off! Everything else in the store, except kits and machines, will be 20% off. On the topic of sales, we will again be having a C l e a n - O u t - O u r - S t a s h S a l e on Sunday, August 31 st, from noon-4pm. It is an appreciation sale for our staff who wish to pare down their fabrics, machines, patterns, etc. This event will be open to the public and will be a great opportunity to add to y o u r stash! F A B R I C S , F A B R I C S , F A B R I C S ! We are celebrating Christmas in June! We will be get- ting numerous Halloween and Christmas collections, so you may start those holiday pro- jects NOW! Other types of fabrics include, from Blue Hill, a collection called “Feedsacks”, which are 1930’s fabrics that replicate your grandmother’s stash. Our own Elaine is writing a basket pattern that will be perfect to use with this collection. Additionally, from June through the rest of the year, we will be getting collections of Batiks which are too numerous to mention but definitely worth checking out. Our 1800’s area will be expanding with a Marcus Brothers collection called “Romantic Renaissance”, a gorgeous collection of stripes, floral and geometrics in blues and reds on beige backgrounds. In July, we will be receiving from Lakehouse a collection called “Sausalito Cottage”, a very sweet and bright line with an afternoon tea theme. Last, but not least, we now have A M E R I C A N M A D E B R A N D F A B R I C S . The cot- ton is grown in the USA (mostly in the south), with the yarns spun in Carolina. The fab- rics are dyed and printed in the USA! The hand is fabulous and the colors are stupen- dous! They’re perfect for the new Moderns & wonderful, traditional patterns.
