Spring has sprung and along with it comes our 15 th Annual SHOP HOP. The dates are April 9 th through 13 th and there will be fifteen stores to cover. The Grand Prize is a $1,500 shopping spree. It is fun and it is free. At each store, you will receive a pattern and a charm pack. This year’s theme is “Up in Charms”. Meet The Teachers” will be Sunday, April 6 th , noon-4pm. Come meet the teachers and see their projects. There will be plenty of goodies to munch on and lots of new quilts to see! Pearl Pereira, world famous applique artist is coming to town on her way to Asilomar and has blessed us with a two day class. The dates are April 24 th and 25 th . She will be teaching her block #1 from 2014 which is a basket of hollyhocks, the cost will be $150 for the two day class. The class has limited space, so sign up soon before it’s full! Now onto the most important part: the incoming fabric. In April, a new collection from Moda called “Summer Vacation”, a wonderful assortment of ba- tiks is scheduled to arrive. Revel in the beauty and magnificence of a tropical island with lush palms and hibiscus against a waterfall backdrop. Also from Moda, designed by Edyta Sitar, comes our most favorite fabrics from Laundry Basket called Jelly Bean prints. This line is pure eye candy, bursting with flavors like watermelon, kiwi, blueberry and lemons. In May, again from Moda, we have ordered “Weeds” by Me and My Sister. Think of a fresh meadow of wild florals all done in timeless black and white with a splash of red. No, it is not too early for Halloween. We have “Moonlight Manor”, a fun collection of spider webs, witches, dots and bats, scheduled. From Windham, for those who love reproduction fabrics, we will be receiving a collection called Lydia, a beautiful assortment of early 1800’s florals in earth tones. In June, we’ll be getting even more Halloween fabrics, including Windham’s “Raven” and Marcus’ “Ghosts and Goblins” and “Halloween Howl’. Plus, guess what,… for Christmas (wow!) Windhams’s “Holiday Magic”. There will be no excuses now for not finishing those holiday quilts, etc. We are having another Retreat in Auburn, November 7 th - 9 th . Bring some UFO’s and finish them, or start a new quilt or two. You can look forward to no cooking, no cleaning, no doing the laundry; you may choose to not even answer your phone. Everyone gets their own room and meals. We will also have a masseuse to work out those kinks. The cost is only $230.
