Welcome to the Quick-Start Student Guide: Introduction to the New LCMS+ User Interface: LEO.

I. LCMS+ Website & How to Switch to from the Legacy Theme to the New LEO User Interface: Open a Web Browser and go to https://lcms.nymc.edu/

From the Legacy Theme Home Screen, Click ‘Preview 2018 Theme’

Click ‘Switch Now’

II. New LEO User Interface Home Screen Overview:

[1] CALENDAR: [1a] Date Select: Use the arrows to scroll to future or past events

[1b] Filters: The Calendar Filters feature allows Users to set personal preference defaults. Always click ‘Clear Filters’ before setting new filters. For Students, we advise setting the Filters to ‘Only Events for which I am Enrolled’

[1d] Document List: Shows Materials related to the Events visible in the Calendar based on Calendar View Settings.

[3] SEARCH: [3a] Search Bar: Users can search across the curriculum by using keywords. A number of built-in

advanced filters are also available to help widen or narrow search fields and display options

[4] ICON MENU BAR:

[4a] Inbox (Envelope): Shows Messages and Announcements that have been sent to you.

[4b] Activity (Bell): Notifies you of any other actionable information you need to know, such as

updates/changes to upcoming Events, new materials, add/new Discussion boards, Assignments, and upcoming or due Exams or Evaluations.

[4c] Pinned & Recent (Pin): Allows you to bookmark any screen you visit in the System to access it

whenever you need to.

[4d] Session Screen (Monitor): Allows you to easily navigate around the System without losing your work when accessing another area of the system. The Session Screen will keep a list of all of the active pages you have visited for the given session. When you logout of the system, any active pages will close and you will lose any unsaved worked (you will see a warning).

[4e] Account Menu (Your Picture): Allows you to access the Portrait Listing (Student Academic Portrait Report), Profile (to edit your personal account settings), Exam Area, Use Legacy Theme (Switch back to old the interface *Available until Mid-July), and Sign Out.
