1 2You may be able to get financial help to pay for your health plan and medical care. There are two types of financial help – called subsidies – that are available from the U.S. government. We can help you find out if you qualify and help you apply.

•Help paying for monthly health insurance bill (premium tax credit)

Thepremiumtaxcredithelpsyoupayforallor partofyourmonthlyinsurancebillor“premium.”Ifyouqualify,thisassistancelowersyourhealthinsurancecosts.

• Help paying for medical costs (Cost-Share Subsidy)

Ifyouqualify,thisformoffinancialassistancehelpspayyourshareofthecostsofmedicalservicesyoumayreceive.

How much you pay depends on the plan you choose

The process for signing up for insurance has changed. There is a set time period when you can buy an individual health insurance plan for yourself or your family. It’s called Open Enrollment and it begins October 1, 2013 and ends March 31, 2014 unless you qualify for a special enrollment period due to divorce, job loss or other reason allowed by the government.
