What kind of media institution might distribute your media

product and why?

Independent MovieThe Oath would be classed as a independent film, as it an abstract film. Although we used various media conventions shown in real media products- as stated in question 1 (http://prezi.com/ybw4ntzclcff/in-what-ways-does-your-media-product-use-develop-or-challenge-forms-and-conventions-of-real-media-products.) We subverted the stereotype of the criminal, as a teenager, and this was mainly due to our target audience which was aiming at ages 16-20, which is shown on our blog http://wbfoundationportfolio.blogspot.com/2011/01/questionnaire.html . Creating our characters to be a similar age to our audience means we are successfully targeting our audience, however our characters are slightly unconventional. Therefore, developing an independent film.

What does a production company do?

• A production company is primarily responsible for physical production of new media, performing arts, film, radio or television program. The company may also be responsible for funding for the production. The company may be either a small or large, selling its products to a film studio.

Our product has its own entertainment company and production company, however it would be distributed by either Film4, Momentum or revolver entertainment.

We also have created our own production company, called SFJR productions.

• Momentum pictures would distribute our media product as it has distributed a range of movies genres such as, Insidious, Kings speech and Limitless.
