Technology is moving fast and you don’t want to get left behind. The way communication has evolved is amazing and the more you know about it the better it is.  We went from mailing out flyers, which is still done today, to getting out your smartphone and and getting anything you want in seconds.

When it comes to the business world, business owners are always wanting a new and creative way to get a message across. By engaging with customers the chances of them staying longer increase!

Lets talk about the infamous QR codes. Which is the big thing now. Its been around for a while, but not that many people know what it really is.

What is a QR code?First, QR stands for; Quick Response. That’s exactly what it is, a quick way to get any type of information. When we want to know something we want it fast and if its easy to get it the better.

The concept of the QR code was created in Japan back in 1994.  We can see that now it is starting to be a big and business owners and new companies should consider using it.

The code (on the right) is made of black squares and formed together to compile a readable code once it has been scanned. It’s like a bar code, but instead of just lines, it is black squares to form it.

What is the purpose of the QR code?

The purpose of having or creating a QR code is to get a message to a client or potential customer quickly and easily. You can see now more and more businesses are using a QR to promote:

A new product Give discounts Get more information on a service Event details and much more.

You can see the code on: A website Magazines Billboards T-shirts, bags … you name it, it will probably be on there!

What is the purpose of the QR code?

I recently read an article on Mashable where a man from Israel engraved a QR code on his mother’s tombstone. Now, at first it may seem odd, but his reasoning was that so no one would forget her.

He said he was concerned about the years to come (20 or 40 years) because he wants keep his mother’s memory alive. Personally, I thought it was a great idea.

This is the BEST QR scanner I found for iPhones. It is literally called Scan by QR Code City, LLC. It’s easy to use, and exceptionally fast with the results.

All you have to do is click on “Scan”, hold it up to the QR code and that’s it! The app will automatically scan the code and it will redirect you to the information. The app saves your previous scans for later use under the “History” tab.

Hold it up to the QR code scan it and you are done! You can even share it others.
