A best practice is a method or technique that has consistently shown results superior to those achieved with other means, and that is used as a benchmark.Best practice is considered by some as a business buzzword, used to describe the process of developing and following a standard way of doing things that multiple organizations can use.Best practices are used to maintain quality as an alternative to mandatory legislated standards and can be based on self-assessment or benchmarking. A key strategic talent required when applying best practice to organizations is the ability to balance the unique qualities of an organization with the practices that it has in common with others.

Benchmarking is the process of comparing one's business processes and performance metrics to industry bests or best practices from other companies. Dimensions typically measured are quality, time and costIn the process of best practice benchmarking, management identifies the best firms in their industry, or in another industry where similar processes exist, and compares the results and processes of those studied (the "targets") to one's own results and processes. Also referred to as "best practice benchmarking" or "process benchmarking", this process is used in management and particularly strategic management .Benchmarking may be a one-off event, but is often treated as a continuous process in which organizations continually seek to improve their practices.

Lessons Learned By The Team

Performance measurements and analysis can be done with the help of best practice benchmarking techniquesQualitative analysis is much more beneficial than the quantitative analysisWe learnt about the concept of benchmarking that uses various statistical data thus enhancing the quality of the product benchmarkedThere were so many things that we could learn from people and organisation We analysed several best practices practiced by each organisation and benchmarked the best of them and the analysis was made on simple statistical data collected by interviewing people as to what they believed could be the things that we can learn and implement from the above mentioned organisation. Thus the implementation of certain techniques help in the upliftment of any institution And this challenge was a great help for understanding the key concepts of improving organizational activities
