    MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Students,This month, I would like to share with you two great

events on the schools calendar: the MYP Personal

project and the PYP Exhibition. Both celebrations are

unique opportunities for the students to demonstratetheir understanding of the inquiry process and ele-

    ments of each program.

On Wednesday evening, March 21, the MYP PersonalProject was celebrated with parents and friends. It

was wonderful to see the range of investigated topics,

the smiles of the students and how proud the parents

were of their child. I mentioned that it would be oneevent the students would remember in their lives and

one that leads them onto the next stage of academic

life- Years 11 &12.On April 4th, the PYP Exhibition will be held and

expectations are building. Unlike the Personal Project

this one is a group project, a big ask of grade 5students. But each year they impress with their dedi-

cation and enthusiasm during the inquiry process. I

look forward to being a part of that and I wish them

    all the best.

In this edition of the newsletter, you will be able to

read a message from Mark Mayer, our former princi-

pal. It was great to hear from him, we thank him for

his contribution to our school and we wish him and

his family all the best for the future.

    Letter from Mark Mayer,

Dear Parents, Students, Teachers and staff at ISGR,Its a pleasure to have this opportunity to connect with all of you after an eventful 9 months here in Cana-

da. As most of you are aware, Charmedie gave birth to our son Elijiah on November 21st. Elijiahs arrival

has brought a tremendous amount of joy to our lives as well as to our family and friends. Today he is a

whopping 15bs 9 ounces and there is no sign of him slowing down in his growth. He smiles at us all the

time now and we feel truly blessed to have such a healthy, happy baby boy. Sadly my father passed away a month after Elijiah was born. We are at peace with his passing as Elijiah

bears his middle name, and the strong character of my dad. I had a good opportunity to spend time with

him this past fall, which meant a great deal to me.As you may have already heard we have decided to make our move to Canada permanent, resulting in my

resignation as Principal of ISGR. We both have fond memories of our time in Sweden and miss the many

friends and colleagues we had the pleasure to spend time with. We will always remember the Swedish

generosity we experienced and are thankful to this day for the support we received when first arriving to

the country. There are too many people to personally thank in this letter, but I would like to recognize thewarmth I received from the entire Teaching and Administrative staff of ISGR. To the entire community, I wish you all the success and happiness as you continue your learning path at

ISGR and beyond. My kindest regards to you all,Mark
